Sounds like a little yeast or bacteria, as long as you sterilize properly, they will be fine.

I am a little worried because I have a little condensation in my jars, either from the PC or cooling. But I did everything in SAB with proper procedure. I'm worried the condensation is going to get the best of me if harboring bacteria or contaminants. Usually my jars never have condensation, but I took them out the PC a lot sooner than I normally would have. Should I be this worried and concerned? I knocked them up with agar last night.

Mate chill, you’re gonna get condensation it happens. All it is is a temperature difference between surfaces. Patience brother...post pics in a couple of days and then you can start to figure if you’re gonna have any issues. Put the jars on the shelf and stop worrying about them.

I don't boil, but i do heat my bottles in the microwave for a few minutes before PCing. It cuts down on sediment, IME. I'll see sediment in 1 or 2 plates per 120 this way.


I been making 750ml a pop, tried the microwave but got a lot
Of sediment. Now I just heat to a low boil, hit it with my stick blender then divide between media bottles with the food coloring already added. Been coming out a lot clearer

The microwave thing was just in the teks I read.

I usually put the bottle in for 1:45 then swirl it around and put it back for 45 seconds 2-3 more times swirling in between. Rarely have sediment unless it’s super high nute.

OK fellas, I'm about to get working on my plates for Liquid Innoculant (Blenderless) and I figured I'd get a group pic to ask your advice.
Here's a hi-res pic of all my plates together:


Per our earlier discussion, I'm using the outer sections of the LEFT Atl#7 plate
I'd like your opinion on which of the the SAT cube plates to use today (the center cutout SAT I placed in some wheat straw/verm last week as an experiment) and the Pan Sandose and Zap transfer I am only including to get your thoughts on how they are looking in general-- not going to use them for anything yet.

Agar is super nutrition rich so it doesn't take long for things to start growing on them if they aren't sterilized right away

I was wondering what was up with all the bright blue agar Ive been seeing. I go away for a few years, when agar was something that was considered on the "advanced" side of things, and when I come back everyone and their mom is doing agar and its all kinds of pretty colors lol. I was like "What the hell has happened? What are they making agar out of now? This shit used to be brown" lol

It's been about 10 days since I put spores to some pasty plates. One never grew anything and the other is finally showing a tiny growth, but progressing really slow. I did another batch of plates and it has yet to show anything either on day 4.

I did a control dish to open air and the next day it had bacterial growth so I know my plate isn't worthless. What else could I be doing wrong? I followed the tek and my agar looks perfect.
