Cool find thanks for sharing the observation about the Leratiomyces.

Dammit. Didn't find much of anything. Seemed too saturated if that's possible. Lame.

Who has the last weilii of the year? We only have today and tomorrow! Tonight is probably going to really decay anything left out there with the near freezing temps.

I am seeing tons of inactives today so I know whoever has a patch might have a few. I wish I had a patch. It’s too sketchy to sneak into my old spot with the new gate. It does suck I didn’t find any that I could pick this year. Only few I saw where right in front of a customers home in November and they’re always outside so I couldn’t touch them but they where obviously weilii.

Getting down to the wire to find the last weilii of the year. I'm not even looking really. I've got other things going on. Maybe I'll find the first ones of 2020 perhaps? I'm becoming more interested in finding these ovoids. I've found a few spots with these "log armpits" as doctorghosty called them a while back.

I thought I’d be waiting til March to look for Ovoids, then DG goes and does his thing. Hilarious. He’s gonna have our northern hunting counterparts driving south for the winter.

Cool ovoids doc. I don't remember seeing Leratiomyces ceres around north GA. Pretty nice looking species really, especially for an indicator.

Yeah I’d never seen them in 10ish years of hunting and found them 3 times that day:

Pretty mushrooms for sure.

Last two times i went it seemed too saturated. If that happens whats your experience?

been meaning to ask have you ever found a caerulipes in GA? when we started getting rain i kept seeing this one look a like right under logs near beech trees. Had a bad feeling that if they occur it means its too atlantic, piedmont whatever . those same logs eventually had a mycena type mushroom that got zapped by the frost.

cheers

On flat areas they probably wouldn’t start growing until it starts drying out a little bit, on slopes there’s no telling, I wouldn’t be shocked to find some pins... never hurts to look. I probably won’t find anything, I might have had a million beers today

Haha! No not baking cookies now. Those things were delicious though. I went trudging through the thick parts of my weilii area in the rain  the other day. It was quite enjoyable actually. I was also looking for ovoids. Didn't find any or else I would've posted.

I'm being patient. When I go in the woods it's because I just love being in there. I'm keeping my eyes open but I'm not going out of my way to search areas.

I think we're all still posting in 2019 still. Might have better odds if we start using 2020.

So many new disturbed areas in my local area. Plus I have a tractor and can disturb my own. If I had a backpack sprayer filled with spore water I'd be out there trying to make my own luck.

Found a lions mane in a cow pasture and bunch of inactive gyms. Guess it still needs a day or so of drying up a bit.
