Hello all,
I have some of these tubs going. They were made by MS -> Agar -> Rye Grain -> cvg -> monotub. The jars were fully colonized and everything seems to be looking good. But it has been 14 days and no pins have shown themselves.

I was also wondering about FAE and if I need to un-tape the optional holes on the short sides at the base to get these to pin. I have only had to mist once and I normally see beads of water on the myc.

You probably just need to wait a bit longer I bet u have pins in less than a week if it’s fully colonized. It probably won’t hurt to pull the tape off the optional holes.

So.... Im trying to set up a 34 qt mono (which i honestly would run unmodded but i'm a noob so i better not fuck up and gain experience). And i am having trouble understanding how to make holes for a smaller tub.

In the pic above top holes where set up standard and the sideones drilled huge, but thats clearly a standard monotub hole with mp. How should i drill for this smalled 34qt tub then?

I would run a 66 but i have 1qt spawn only

I am a noob as well but I just put 1 hole on the long sides and a taped up optional hole on the short sides at sub level then just followed the 5 holes at the top of the short sides. Here is some 27 qt tubs one is cased the other is not these were MS -> agar -> 3qt rye -> 1/2 cvg mix -> 27 qt tubs. I do have to mist these once a day.

Awesome thanks! Im worried that my tubs may he getting too dry, the lid of my tub is really crappy and leaves some big AF gaps.

I know more FAE is always better but i dont want to be misting 3 times a day

Crypt, you def need to wait, that will pin soon. It looks good. But why only one hole on the long sides? You'll want all three.

Sank. Why not run unmoded being a noob? I started with them and they also work great. I just use these now being a bit more experienced because I know a bit more what to look for and can dial in the holes by taping them if I need to.

I have three 66qt tubs with the three side holes. But the 27qt tub I only have one on the sides. I think if there were anymore on the 27qt ones I would have to mist 5 times a day. :smile:

Pasty, I'm giving pans a try (my fourth grow) and just came across this setup, and I love it, because I had a hard time dialing in shoe boxes.  I like being able to control by taping the holes if needed.  I don't have a lot of faith these pans will pan out (yuk, yuk), so I'm willing to be the test case on this if you'll tell me what you'd do, that is, what size mini mono would you use, and how would you position the holes?  I have 10 1/4 jars of pans just starting to show a little growth.  (Inoculated with MS syringes.  I haven't done agar . . . yet.) I live in the southeast and keep the apt warm and have some air flow from heating unit.  They're in BJ's recipe of Hpoo/verm/brf/water.

Just started two of these today....should have read the entire thread, but I have the three holes on long side of tub, and the five a top of short sides. My tubs are different, also, I saw these sealing ones, and thought I'd flip the lids for un-modded, but I think I'll try leaving lids secure and using the small holes. Will continue to update, as the sealing lids may necessitate more holes? Maybe? What do you think?

Pasty I have a quick question...

How many holes would you use for a 90qt sterilite tub?
Same hole configuration or more holes?

These 90's are almost 50% bigger than this tek calls for that's why Im asking.

I currently have the exact configuration as your tek and optional hole. Was wondering what you thought about 5 holes on the sides???

Or maybe just one extra hole.

Need an expert opinion before picking up the drill again 🤪

So I drilled the holes.

Also, that's pretty fast colonization...this is MS>grain master>spawn to bulk, though. I'm doing a test of good performing fruits to clone with these tubs.
