What The Field Capacity of Coir Looks Like (VIDEO) * 18
    #25087128 - 03/24/18 12:25 PM (5 years, 10 months ago)

Hi everyone, this post started off as me checking if my coir was at field capacity, however after getting several responses i'm confident that this was prepared correctly.

This was prepared using Bod's Bucket Tek and is a mix of 650 grams coir, 2 quarts vermiculite, 1 cup gypsum, 4 quarts water. Total it came out to pretty much exactly 12 quarts of substrate.

Hopefully this video can help give you some more confidence on achieving field capacity and give you a better understanding of what it should look like.

Heres a couple of my grows using this coir:

Sweeeet thank you guys. I was worried too much water evaporated off while boiling and that it was too dry. Cant wait to hopefully get my first successful grow going.

Thanks for posting that. If that’s perfect field capacity I’ve been adding too much water.

You should almost rename the post to "This is what Field Capacity of Coir is"

i used to think 'the more water the better.. more water=more shrooms!'

this is usually what ends up happening when my coir is too wet

shorties are a bitch.

or this happens

Perfect. I’m about to do a coir monotub (first mono) my spawn is just about ready so this video is perfect for me at the perfect time. I know I will be looking at this like five times when my coir has been hydrated.

:snoopyes: nicely done. I've been thinking of making videos of all the little steps that confuse people. this video is great. it even shows how hard you are squeezing which is something that always confused me getting started.

THANKS FOR SHARING.
