Dude that is fucking sick..  you're killing it with those tubs.

Just drilled up three 56qt monos.  The seasons will be changing soon enough....Time to buckle down n get some cultures started again  :evil:

I have a master of an untested fruit clone of hanoi that I will expand tomorrow or this evening.

I will have enough grain to run a shoebox, bootbox, a 66 qt with traditional mono holes (I will be using micropore tape) and a 66 qt with this method.

The monos should be a direct comparison (N of 1 I know)to see how the holes do but since I haven't run a mono in close to a year, the shoebox and bootbox will help me be sure there isn't issue with sub prep or the clone or whatever.

Cannot wait to try out.

I'm running a lpeu clone that pushes out 6oz first flush(5myco qts spawn), I have one 66qt with 1.25in holes covered with mp tape.. And 1 66qt mono made this way.. Gonna be spawning more as soon as bags are ready, I think I'll have 3 tubs of each style mono for comparison

Another Ez Dialed monotub coming in. Should be ready to harvest soon. Couple in there are ready already but it’s too thick so I’m gonna leave em go. Not like I gotta worry about spores. This is 3 quarts spawn for those interested. This tub wasn’t misted even once, I’m feeling this configuration.

What the heck do your 3qt melmac tubs like that typically come out to for first flush yield?  Fucking crazy.

I dunno this is the first one I’ve done. Usually do 4 quarts spawn but this run had a jar crack in the sterilizer so it only got 3 quarts. My 4 quart spawn monos have been typically doing around 2400 grams wet first flush but this looks to be on par with that.

How much experimenting have you done with the drill bit size? How about with the number of holes at various sizes and configurations? How many iterations of this did you go through so far before settling on this one you posted? Just curious.

A fair bit of experimentation has been done. Can’t even say how many but I probably did 4 just to figure out the top holes which includes mini monos, and there have been 3 versions for the lower hole placements/sizes in the 66 quart configurations. I guess at least 7 iterations to get to these tubs I’m running now.

Results are in for the mono with 3 quarts spawn. It overloaded my scale at 2400 grams wet but that was most of the haul so let’s call it 2400~ or so. However there were a few not ready yet so I left em to do their thing. Got a patch of pins that was also popping up, hopefully they do well.
