I used to love right by it. And used to hunt deer. Now they sold all the adjacent land and built houses. But the powerlines are still public accessable. And always come and bushhog everythong every couple years.

I went to go check out my weilii spot from 2017 and the neighborhood but up a gate so RIP to that spot. What a bummer.. it’s almost too late in the season to start looking for another one. It took me two months of looking daily after rains to find that one that yielded 14 grams dried.

I’m not trying to discourage anyone who is currently scouring the North GA looking for these gems. It is just too late for me because I am very busy with work at the moment.

That spot looks just like the one behind the neighborhood I grew up in. Had the little creek and everything. We used to camp and play paintball back there.

My fucking spot got jacked & thrashed & pin raped. Motherfuckers stepped all in it too, tore it up. No harvest for doctorghosty. That’s what I get for being patient I guess... FUMING.

I wouldn’t have been mad if they just harvested mature fruits, thats fine and fair, finders keepers. The pin rape and utter disregard is infuriating

Oh no! I'd be pretty upset!

I've went over my property again now. 14 acres that all have areas that fit the Weilii. Nada. Well I did get excited for each of the brown caps I'd see. Only to flip them over and see yellow sponge..

Damn Doc, it's happened to me before as well.  One my spots has a couple other people who pick it.  I almost felt like leaving note after it was trounced.  I mean just show some respect and try not to disturb the environment.

Dang, that sucks to hear doctorghostly.  Although im sure a majority dont even look at the ground when they wall.  But im sure they are more people looking up there, than around my areas.  Most of mine are pretty much private properties, I hunt. Or ga power land,  right of ways.

Sorry to hear about that. To me it seems like not many know what to look for out there. Cubensis and other species that grow in poop are more obvious and probably more sought after.

Does anyone have any dried caerulescens photos? I’m wanting to compare the ones I found the other day no that they’ve been in the dehydrator

I’ve been seeing more lacrymaria (some huge furry specimens) than you can shake a stick at. A couple of spots are so prolific that it leaves my shoes smelling like fungus for about 15 minutes. My plan is to check spots like this every few days til the hard freeze. Any wisdom on this indicator species? I’ve read some hunters have found these a week or two before Weilii, but also read some spots are just lacrymaria. Thoughts? Reflections? Opinions?

Its worth a look if youre in the right habitat. They can right before, during and after Caerulescens fruit, and often side by side.

I am new in the forum and trying to get familiarized with weilii hunting. I live in cumming. Is there any spot you could point to me where i can start looking at? Any specific park or region? Sorry for the dumb question, but only trying to get some initial help...

This goes against the rules for 1. And 2 no one is going to give their spots up to someone who may or may not be (but likely is) law enforcement.

Hey everyone, just sharing my finds. Psilocybe caerulescens.

I included the information from my Id post. Id like to say that a small sand-rake, the kind a kid would use at the beach is great for pulling back pinestraw and leaves, which is where I found these--completely covered. I would say there was around 20-25 huge clusters, and several small ones. I took around 3 clusters (3-6 mushrooms per cluster), but left a lot and covered the pins with the damp grass and pinestraw that I removed. Iv found 2 more active spots near this one. They are all at the bottom of small hills, enclaves, and all had a small stream within a stones throw. And I also included a photo of them on top of another mushroom I find often growing nearby in the grass. All the spots I found were damp, like just ugh....my shoes are ruined, but the grounds had recently flooded as this part of the park sits at the bottom of a hill.





Habitat:
I found these growing under a downed pine tree, beneath several new pines trees that around 5 ft high(I attached a photo) next to a grassy area in a damp part of the woods in north ga about 1hr 1/2 south of the Tennessee border. Red clay was the dirt.
Sweet gum trees alive and dead. Its a new park so they bulldozed the tree off to the sides.
Gills:
Gills are whitish. On the really tiny ones there is a white veil touching the stem from the edge of the cap.(attached photo). On some of the really tiny ones, this is also there. Its not present at all on the bigger ones.

Stem:Stem is white and has a bluish tint towards the base on some. Some have blue spots/areas on the stem. Its hollow.


Cap:
Some are very small around 7cm, the biggest is around the size of a silver dollar. The texture is very smooth, almost waxy and shiny. They spherical in shape though some looked wavy, and some wonky, like they had melted but they were the ones squished within the clusters. As far as color they are blusih greenish, grayish, with a darker nipple in the middle, they bruise greenish/bluish.

Spore print color:
As of right now it looks dark, ill check in the morning again, but I am still waiting on my prints. Only been under a cup a two hours.

Bruising:
Blue. If you pinch the stem is blue, and on the cap, it looks greenish blue too if you press it. where I cut off the mushroom cap for my spore prints is also blue now, Ill attach a photo. Its sitting in a plastic bin. The cap is overturned showing the blue bruising where the knife cut.

Other information:
They have a very different smell. I cannot describe it. I smell everything, and these smell very different. Its not a bad smell, not stinky, it's just different from the earthy ones that smell like nothing but mushrooms to me.
