Where’s the interest in the Ukrainians who illegally donated to his inaugural committee? That’s corruption. Or manafort and his under the table payments. Lots of Ukrainian corruption to look at but he only cares about Biden and the 2016 election

I'm not defending Trump from anything except make believe.

Investigating corrupt does not equal lobbying for dirt.

Meanwhile, this story came out today:  Burisma paid Joe Biden $900,000 for lobbying – Ukrainian MP

I don't know how reliable the source is, but we'll see if anything happens...

Funds in the amount of $900,000 were transferred to the U.S.-based company Rosemont Seneca Partners, which according to open sources, in particular, the New York Times, is affiliated with Biden. The payment reference was payment for consultative services,

Yeah sounds like a legit story :laugh2:

$900k was paid to some company that has some possible relationship to Biden. So it must be Biden. You are not a serious person.

If there was only some way to see if this is true

The article is a few days old, but Ukraine’s top prosecutor doesn’t seem to think that Biden Jr. did anything wrong.

Also, it says Biden sr. was trying to clamp down on corruption while VP.

These guys who were arrested were part of a conspiracy involving a former Ukrainian officials to get Ambassador yavonovitch fired. They were arrested trying to escape prosecution by leaving the country.

The conspiracy involves former congressman Pete sessions of Texas

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.texastribune.org/2019/10/10/pete-sessions-congressman-1-guliani-associates-indictment/amp/

Quote:
WASHINGTON — Former U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions is an unnamed member of Congress mentioned in an indictment against two business associates of President Trump’s personal attorney, Rudolph Giuliani, according to NBC News.

The two Soviet-born men, Igor Fruman and Lev Parnas, were arrested late Wednesday night at Dulles Airport outside of Washington, D.C, per ABC News. The Wall Street Journal reported that the two men are accused of “violating campaign finance rules, including funneling Russian money into President Trump’s campaign.”

Regarding Sessions, the indictment against the two men states that they “committed to raise $20,000 or more for a then-sitting U.S. Congressman” who is referred to in the court document as “Congressman-1.” The indictment goes on to state that the congressman “had been the beneficiary of approximately $3 million” in donations from a campaign committee. NBC News and other outlets identified that person as Sessions and reported that the committee was a Trump-aligned super PAC.

Federal authorities alleged that around the same time, Parnas "sought Congressman-1's assistance in causing the U.S. government to remove or recall” the American ambassador to Ukraine at the time, Marie Yovanovitch. Yovanovitch was a well-regarded diplomat who came into disfavor within the Trump administration and was removed from her post earlier this year.

The republicans  are totally corrupt

I don't think anyone suggested Jr. did anything illegal. It's just business as usual for politicians and their family members.

It doesn't matter if it's the Trump's, Biden's or other members of Congress. They usually never have to break any laws to benefit financially from their positions of power. The current system permits that type of behavior, so why wouldn't they take advantage of it?

So Trump asks for investigations despite a lack of belief of wrong doing?

I agree with all your points, it just doesn't make any sense to request an investigation when believing everything is fine.

Trump should have asked the FBI to do this. Of course the FBI was getting ready to arrest trumps sources so it probably wouldn’t have worked

I agree, these investigations from both sides are political in nature.

Instead of requesting investigations, why don't they demand to criminalize the behavior?  Nope, both sides aren't going to make that effort.
