Please help. Friends dog is acting poisoned. Possible mushroom consumption
    #26174378 -

Please help with mushroom ID. A friends dog is acting like he ate a bunch of weed or something- wobbling at the back legs and acting weird and such. There was nothing for him to get into though, so I'm thinking maybe he got into some mushrooms I found in the yard. Help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Habitat:
Woods. Northern California

Gills:
Looks brown, but I can't tell if that's just the brown/red spores or the gills

Stem:
1.5" long. Palish, yellowy, off-white

Cap:
Tan/ light brown. Diameter is about an inch, maybe a little more.

Spore print color:
Reddish brown

Bruising:
Can't tell if the mushrooms is bruising. If anything, the stipe gets a little darker after breaking

Other information:
Scent of mushroom is difficult to pin point. Seems earthy, but with maybe a hint of sweetness(?)

These are an Agrocybe species, I don't believe that mushroom would cause the symptoms you describe in a dog.

Thank you everyone so far for your help. I did use that link that was initially posted and made a post there. So there aren't any agrocybe species that are look-alikes to something poisonous?

I can't imagine what he could've got into to make him act this way.

There could have been some other mushrooms present in the same area but I don't think it could have been the ones in your images.

I know of a dog that is only alive today because she got to the vet soon enough after eating a container of slug bait, if your friends dog definitely seems poisoned go to the vet.

There are some lookalikes, but what you have there is definitely agrocybe, as inski said

Sounds similar to how my dog acted when she ate resin covered tissue out of the trash. Is it possible it was something you discarded and forgot about?

No he didn't get into the trash or anything. No emergency vets close by. Will probably end up having to shoot out of town to find an emergency clinic. I will update when I find out what's happening.

He acts like he got into some lsd or something. We were just getting ready to drop too. Counted the gels and they're all accounted for so it's not the L, but I don't know what else it could be. He's a small dog- maybe a nug got dropped on the floor somewhere and he ate it? Not really sure. My friend says he doesn't think so, but you never know.

I'll report back when I have more news. I appreciate everyone who has responded.

Was the L transported around or contacted anything the dog may have ate, licked, or sniffed?

In humans an active dose is in the micrograms so in a dog its even less, so second hand contact might be possible, but only if the tabs had direct contact with anything the dog could have also reached,

FWiw I’ve seen over the counter tick repellant cause similar issues - consider whether anything was applied - good luck
