Re: Border Time Bomb, or, why we don't deport migrants anymore [Re: qman] * 1

depends which citizens and which laws.

For example, no punitive action is being taken against trump for violating congressional subpoenas.

Also, until a few months ago, crossing the border without a passport or green card was a civil infraction, not a crime.

Regardless, you didn’t answer the question. Probably because all your “in just looking out for the US working class and labor interests” bullshit is just that, bullshit. It boils down you just liking the state cracking down on groups of people you don’t like. And that’s fine if you don’t want to admit it. We all feel shame.

Oh, it's all bullshit because ICE isn't going to deport millions of illegals currently in the labor market?

So deporting illegals with criminal records is just going after people we don't like?

I think you forgot these people are here illegally and we don't need any justification to deport them at all. So this isn't "cracking down on people" you claim I don't like, it's about following the laws on the books.

If you don't like the immigration laws, I have always suggested trying to change it and stop complaining about the enforcement of those laws.

Buddy you just said like 3 posts ago that you doubt these ICE raids will make any substantial change to the labor market.

That doesn't mean deporting criminal illegals is a policy based in racism. I would suggest it's a policy based in commonsense.

Criminal illegals. As opposed to...

Do you use this rhetoric to convince yourself? Or others?

Regardless you’re still dodging the question. “Because they broke the law” isn’t a good answer. Something tells me you’re against launching a giant federal police force and peripheral bureaucracy to go after people who change lanes without signaling.

it's also largely based on breaking apart their families. they said they would "focus on illegals with criminal records" i wonder how accurate their count on this will really be tho..

not to mention the untold psychological trauma already being inflicted on small children for the main purpose of satisfying an admittedly uncaring voter base. this is cruel and unusual punishment as far as im concerned.

they also made a comparison about people who get arrested for dui, etc. would be separated from their children which is also bullshit because as american citizens they have support networks that would still be able to take care of those kids. meanwhile the illegal immigrants get no rights as a citizen and they'll unnecessarily punish those kids just for cheap political points.

common sense in the u.s. is becoming mob rule/mob mentality where they all take part in the crime then disavow from it being anybody's responsibility. this is absolutely heartless and if these people call themselves christians i'd like to see them explain that with a straight face when they meet their god.

Yeah, they're all angels with no criminals records.

They're not even US citizens, so they're going to have to deal with whatever happens. The worse case scenario, return to their homelands.

So if I break the law and get sentenced to prison, isn't that also breaking my family apart?  Where is your outrage?  Why is it selective to just non-US citizens?

I really don't even see your point, illegals do NOT belong in the US, it's against the law. How is deporting illegals with criminal records problematic?  We have enough problems here, we don't need third world illegals coming into the US and committing crimes, how does this benefit US citizens?  It's a burden and nothing more.

What happens if I go to Australia and overstay my visit and start committing crimes? Does Australia now own me citizenship or something?  Give me a fucking break.

Did you just accidentally admit that their asylum claims are valid, being that sitting in a concentration camp is preferable to returning home? Whoops.

why do you keep insinuating that every immigrant coming to the USA legally is a criminal or will at some point commit a crime?

im sure its hard for you to imagine yourself in their shoes because you have lived a completely different life and upbringing.

I am advocating for humanity, not non-citizens. someone's country of birth is as relevant to me as what blood type they are. i dont care where a person was born. i care that people are treated humanely

It's called from the liberal perspective. God forbid we deport illegals living in the US. The horror.

I really wish the left would care even 25% as much for their fellow US citizens as they do for illegals that commit crimes in the US.

Most illegals don't commit crimes on US soil, so I don't see why you're claiming that's my argument here. That's a strawman.

What's wrong with deporting illegals that do commit crimes in the US?  You do realize that some illegals are career criminals in the US and are nothing more than a social-economic burden for US citizens?

Bingo. Its about proper human rights. Yes, they are crossing the border illegally but concentration immigrant camps are just wrong.

You do realize the US doesn't even have to entertain the concept of the asylum process, court hearings and detention centers?  We could deport them ASAP and not even bother with detainment in the US.

The current system got overflowed because people in the US and human traffickers started to encourage migrants to flood across the border. That's not the fault of the US.
