Don't want to be in a US detention center?  Don't go into the US.

That’s a poorly thought out plan that isn’t working . Trump has Trump camps full of kids , what are going to do now ? Execute them all ? Build more detention centers ?
Detention centers and treating children inhumanely  are not a long term solutions to a complicated problem .

How about people stop encouraging migrants to enter the US in the first place?

How about Mexico helps stop the flood of migrants into the US?

How about arresting the human traffickers from using children to help migrants into the US?

How about shutting down the asylum process and deporting the migrants back into Mexico or country of origin?

Building more detention centers isn't going to help anything, we need to change the whole process and completely discourage economic migrants from seeking the US for a first world standard of living.

Liberals in the US encouraged this rush to the border and then blame the existing infrastructure for failing by being overburden by the numbers. Trump isn't the blame here, human traffickers and US liberals are the blame.

The only ones encouraging migrants to enter the U.S. in the first place is the people who hire them. You are always saying we can't have any kind of progressive economic reform because the elites would never allow it. Yet you are fixated on immigration which could never be stopped unless the elites who benefit from cheap labor are stopped.

Well, there's plenty of people here in the US that are also encouraging this rush to the border beyond the employers that hire them.

With that being said, I agree that unless we stopped the hiring of illegals, nothing will be solved.

yes, that is correct and to understand why that is you have to understand that the u.s. along with other countries (like china and russia) also helped to setup these problems which has caused this influx. it wasn't just liberals who caused this, in fact, it's more the fault of military operations influenced by right-winger imperialistic strategy. can you guess what they were after? ways to control their money.

so if you want to put the blame anywhere for not helping the country's own citizens it should be squarely on the people that insist on exploiting their own citizens for this very same purpose.

that's why this problem will never be solved the way that you say it should be, imo as long as there is a capitalistic incentive their "gut" will always follow that direction since there is just too much money to be made that way..

If you're suggesting that Western actions are responsible for migrants flooding into the US today, you're entitled to that opinion.  As far as I'm concerned, that doesn't change the existing immigration laws on the books.

There's millions of rationalizations for people fleeing into developed nations, but doesn't change the fact that we still have citizenship, borders and national sovereignty. In other words, there's always going to be justifications in some people's minds that these migrants are the result of US actions, therefore these migrants should be allowed entry into the US. All I can say is, change the existing immigration laws, but that's not going to happen.

hmmmm...focus on the crumbs that immigrants consume from the table or focus on the lion's share that the wealthy elite pull from our mouths...

this is a tough one.  I guess we'll just keep going round and round fighting for the crumbs.  seems the only logical choice.

Not that long ago you were saying they should be called "economic migrants"...guess we're back to "illegals"? Now that "economic migration" can be blamed squarely on the largely conservative ownership class?

By the way, this may come as a bit of a shock, but "asylum seekers" are not illegals. Of course, we could get rid of asylum laws, which would put us in direct violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Then again, we're already running concentration camps on the border and committing genocide, so that's par for the course.

But if I work hard and pay my dues, I might be allowed to join the club of people stealing the lion's share! Isn't that the American Dream? That they'll let me in?

We probably wont change much immigration law. It sounds good. We just wont enforce them.

It's always been rigged, with that being said, why in the world would we want millions of broke third world migrants entering our nation to make the situation even worse?

I'll tell you what, when we witness 20 years of consistent real wage growth in the US, then we can consider some forms of legal immigration into the US, until that happens I don't want to hear about it.

Let's worry about fixing are own people before we decide to save the world. Mexico is a gigantic shithole so why would we want people from that culture coming over here anyways? Lots of Mexicans have moved to my area and it caused nothing but problems. Cars are being broken into and they drive around without car insurance and shit like that. None of this shit happend until they moved here. One just ran into my dad's car so my father had to pay for all the damage. When I walk around the block I'll wave and say hi and they just give you a dirty look. Other people say the same exact thing. I understand some of them are good people but I honestly think they're far more racist than we are 🤷‍♂️. I feel like I'm allowed to talk about this subject because I'm living around this shit. It's easy to say that we should have open borders when you've never seen the consequences in your life. We have enough problems in are country. Those people just need to fix their country.

The ironic thing is that many Mexicans and Central Americans are extremely racist towards blacks in the US.  In their countries, blacks are viewed as sub-human.

That's the dirty little secret the left would never want to discuss.  It's supposed to be just one big "cultural diversity" party.

It's funny how this is the least brought up resolution to the problem,  but is actually the only thing that makes any sense. Impose much higher penalties on the people who use illegal alien labor, jail,  fines,  take their F'ing business away,  feed them to the dogs. They have no decency as human beings and this goes on across the political spectrum, to think it is just the other who does this is ignorant. The right and left profit from this their alleged desire to help is only theatrics.

Well, good thing donald is cutting funding to immigration judges, which prevents THAT EXACT THING YOU WANT from happening.

Again, deportations are down. Deportations are not the point. emotionally damaged future scapegoats are the point. The GOP doesn't actually want to get rid of illegals. They want more illegals around because of this:

These people are gonna vote MAGA, believing for some stupid reason that the GOP will actually fix the problem, and then keep voting MAGA because the GOP is gonna slow walk every deportation and flood their neighborhoods even more.

If they actually wanted to fix the problem, they'd crack down on anyone hiring the illegals. But they don't want to fix the problem. They make too much money off of it. It's like when they'd lock up weed smokers while letting off the kingpins. Exact same playbook.
