Border Time Bomb, or, why we don't deport migrants anymore
    #26078239 -

Anyone else think the point of the concentration camps down south is as a time bomb for about two decades from now?

We're generating emotionally and psychologically damaged kids by the thousands, and we're keeping them here instead of deporting them. In public, sure, Republicans will talk about deportation, but none of those deportations are happening. Why?

It's a political tool. These kids will grow up, emotionally and psychologically damaged, and will likely not become functional members of society. Sure, some, or potentially even most, will be somewhat functional. However, a good percentage of them will not adjust to life in the country where they were imprisoned for their formative years. They will be anti-social. They will resent what was done to them.

And they will likely be criminals.

This is a future crime wave perpetrated by Mexican immigrants being engineered by republicans, who desperately need new people to join their party. Fear of black people has been played out, now we need fear of brown people. What better way than to create a large group of emotionally damaged people that will spend their 20s committing violent crimes?

This is why deportations are down from the Obama years. donald and the GOP are deporting fewer people because they need them here. They need a future scapegoat.

I think you are right that a lot of those kids will be damaged and disfunctional later. I'm not too big on the rest of your theory. Right now most Mexicans are hardworking, but big cities have a lot of gangbangers, so I don't see what's going to change.

Your right that Donald and the GOP need them here. But I think they are much more vital as workers than as future scapegoats.

It's all about having criminals of the right color. You say "gangbangers", and I'm pretty sure you're talking about black dudes part of gangs, right? (not even as a racial/racist thing, that's just...what you imagine? I sure do--it's all about marketing) From what I see, that's become less common in my (southern) city. Most of the criminals here are white trash methheads.

Thing is, most Mexican immigrants right now are hardworking for the same reason I was hardworking right out of high school. Minimum wage was more money than I'd ever seen in my life. Something similar happens for Mexican immigrants fresh off the boat.

I do not think the same "hardworking" assumption will fly for future detainees. They won;t have a comparison for their US wages, they'll just remember spending their childhoods in prison.

That’s one of the dumbest conspiracy theories I’ve ever heard. It’s got potential to go mainstream.

When I said gangbangers in that sentence I was talking about Mexicans, LKs most likely.

I thought MS-13 was the big scary gang recently?

In all seriousness though, gangbangers are much less a threat that random "lone wolves" nowadays. At least, based on the local statistics. Couple good 'ol boys with AR-15s have caused more damage than any gangs have, locally, since 2004~ish.

But what about overall, isn't that the most important aspect when we're discussing a national immigration policy?

What do the national crime statistic state?  It's not about what's occurring in your area.

The national crime statistics (for 2017, the latest published) say that 49.2% of violent crime is committed by white people, followed by 24.5% by black people, and 14.3% by hispanic people.

So yeah, white trash shitheads are the problem. Statistically and realistically.

Guessing they're mostly MAGAs too.

Yup. Still good 'ol boys. They're the most dangerous. A white guy in the US is twice as dangerous as a black guy.

Those percentages should take into account the population count for each race.

More whites live in America than blacks. Thus we obviously commit more crime.

nice deflect. and what exactly is my personal bias that im being accused of having?

furthermore, if not from personal experience than where else would one form an opinion that best represents said person's outlook on life? we are supposed to submit to others opinions because they claim to know-it-all?

You could always start with the facts instead of your own limited personal experiences.

yes that is literally part of their strategy, along with the idea of weakening their entire group as a whole by splitting the families apart. by destroying the familial structure it helps to weaken their population as a whole. this could actually be considered a form of shadow warfare and should probably technically be considered a crime against humanity, but well...rich people get to do whatever they want and right now they're mostly just banking on the for-profit detention camps being erected to propogate this abomination... so it is by nature an extention of the prison industrial complex meant to target immigrants.

this is why south park made fun of trump by comparing him to the clown from the movie "IT"

a lot of trump's support base also seems to feed on this cruelty..
