Just a question for trump supporters.

Trump has made the border his biggest policy fight. Today the guy running Customs and Border Patrol resigned. This is what Trump said about him

“I didn’t speak to him. I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to him actually. We have some very good people running it. And, you know, I don’t know anything about it. I hear he’s a very good man, a good person. I don’t know him. I don’t think I ever spoke to him.”

What do you think about Trump have never spoken to and doesn’t know the person who was running CBP? How is that not managerial negligence?

Hardly. Immigration per capita to the US is significantly lower than many -if not most - western nations, especially when it comes to refugees. Even in raw numbers the US is falling behind. Canada took in more refugees than the US last year despite having 1/10 the population.

And xul, answer my question. Aren’t you bothered that Trump has never even talked to the head of the border patrol? Is he really on top of the situation if he doesn’t even know what going on at the top of his own immigration agencies?

Thats probably because there is no benefits to accepting refugees. Didn't trump say that he was going increase merit based immigration?

We've been down this road before... my stance is that we should fix our own poverty and social problems before we add more to the mix by trying to save the world

the american govt cannot "fix" social problems. they cant turn racists into not being racists.

the gov't CAN help refugees.

and helping humans in crisis is not "saving the world".

and saving the world is not on the trumps agenda. hell its not even on the radar.. the trump admin is continually rolling back environmental protection regulations.
