In case anyone didn’t know. It’s a Democratic policy to grant everyone amnesty, and that is why they are coming. What are the democrats plans to deal with this?

To be fair it has also historically been a republican policy until relatively recently. Marco Rubio was also trying to create a lot more US citizens regardless of how the current citizens felt about it.

Amnesty is the smartest, cost effective, and most humane policy there is.

But then the brown people win so I guess let’s keep eroding civil liberties and expanding the concentration camps.

Trump is president. It’s his problem. I’m sure if he manages to get the levels back to where they were when Obama left office he’ll take credit for solving a problem he created with his failed policies.

Yes, Trump is the president. You can keep repeating that as Mitch as you like, but it was still the Democrats who put the amnesty clause in the omnibus spending package. It is not that much nuance to recognize this. Here actually proud of it, and if you’re trying to make new American citizens too then I don’t know why you aren’t willing or able to recognize it either.

That said, it is possible the influx increase is due to some other reason, but when you consider the timeline of when the bill was passed and when the increase occurred it seems very unlikely that it is due to any reason other than the amnesty that the democrats insisted on.

If you can offer up a competing hypothesis that is more likely and also explains the increase regarding the timeline I would love to hear it. One other thing, do you think the amnesty clause that was placed in the spending bill by the democrats has had any affect of any kind on immigration today?

It does if "people living in the US" are doing so by breaking the current immigration laws.

I can't fly to Australia and over stay my visit and then start crying that I now want citizenship and it does nothing to affect Australian citizenship rights. :facepalm:

There is a legal process and immigration laws already on the books. Stop complaining the change the dam laws already, but guess what?  That doesn't fly with the vast majority of US citizens.

The bill that trump signed

Trump campaigned that only he could solve the problem. The problem has gotten much worse since he became president. He has failed. Plain and simple. The democrats have run circles around his feeble little mind.

Then change the immigration laws!!!    What's the issue here?

Have a politician run on giving away citizenship and doing away with the current immigration laws, let me know how that works out?

Have them run a campaign on increasing social programs and granting those benefits to anyone that comes over the border. I'm sure that will be so appealing to US citizens.

What's about "racism"?  You do realize the immigration laws affect everyone regardless of race or origin? 

Yes, this is mainly about economics. I can assure you The Elite that are pro-immigration don't embrace the "diversity" aspect, but instead embrace the diluting of wages and higher profit margins.

the assumption that central American migrants will negatively affect the stability of "the greatest country in the world".

they speak a different language, yes. but they are people just like every person in your town or city. we all have basic necessities (food, water, shelter) and in the USA you find an abundance of these resources. thats the attraction to come here.. because we have plenty to offer our citizens and guests.

but, because we are free market capitalist economy, the only thing that seems to matter is money.

Perhaps they have, but it has not been for the good of the country. Trump was the only candidate willing to address immigration. The democratic candidates running right now aren’t even willing to address it. As far as I am aware Bernie is the only candidate that expressly came out against open borders. He hasn’t said anything about mass immigration or scaling back current immigration levels.

The reason I asked what the democrats were planning on doing about immigration is because they are running for president. They think they can do a better job, ok, let’s hear a proposal. That was why I asked.
