How is the realty of climate change not painfully obvious by now? Despite all the talk about polar vortexes, only one state was colder than average. 26 states were warmer than average. 1/3 of those were significantly warmer.

I don’t give a shit. The point is she doesn’t support her own bill. None of the democrats do. They just made it for show. Three democrats voted against it. That’s the point. It’s a disaster and no one takes it seriously.

She supports the idea, but the bill was so poorly written that everyone is running from it. The reason I brought it up is that it highlights the widening chasm within the Democratic Party. The old school business style democrats seem to be strongly disagreeing with the new AOC style democrats.

So I got the description wrong initially, but this is the event I was referring to.

This is a significant development in the proposed legislation and I think it should be mentioned. The Green New Deal lasted a lot longer then I thought it would, but it appears that this is how it ends.

I'm sorry I have no idea what you're referring to here. I just wanted to bring up the most recent development in the Green New Deal. I apologize for not looking more closely into it before posting about it I just heard the headline and wanted to get it out there.

If you would please excuse me I would like to mention the Green New Deal was voted down. Democrats are blaming this on the most Hawkish Turtle to ever grace the Chamber.

Please share your source. I would like to read or hear about how republicans are the ones that are desperate right now.

From what I can see between Russia, Jussie Smollett, and now this to me it appears that democrats are the ones on the back foot. So if you have a source that can inform me better, I would love to see it.

As a spinnable story, this works great for both sides.

Republicans can make fun of Dems for not supporting the GND.

Democrats can spin it as a show of solidarity against McConnels cynical ploy to divide them.

From a macro level, I think it's a wash.

I don't think the Green New Deal is dead though. It's an idea that's been around for thirteen years.
