No but likely so.  I didn't really think about that.  America is less against it due to being a nation of immigrants.  Venezuela is a lot of native people, that lost their roots.


The spirits told me once when I was 17 and almost 18, to be true to your roots.  Now what that means could mean different things.

Decent Democracy Now episode this morning discussing the fate of Venezuela.

Interestingly, they briefly discusses the amount of Chinese debt tied up there. It's a decent sum, seems everybody wants some of that hot Venezuelan oil. There was a brief talk about humanitarian concerns and a brief bit on the state of democracy there. However, the conversation mostly centered around Elliot Abrams, who of course was a player under Reagan in Nicaragua and Guatemala. Then later with Bush when the U.S. didn't like the election results in Gaza. Perhaps we should open the door for Kissinger while we are at it. We can make it a little war crimes and imperialism party.

The word you're looking for is "investigative journalist".  He doesn't just report what he's told, like most journalists do, he investigates his facts instead.  If you want to call investigative journalism 'activism', then so be it.
