ok,  aside from taping tubs (i just don't like taping things)  the worst part that i still face palm myself for is having lost the majority of print collection in a move after having collected them for the last 10 yrs :frown:  zappa's, subs, ovoids, cyclones, pans ect...  noooo!!!!!

Actually its not any of the chores to me anymore.

Its knowing how precious few people will care about my achievements IRL, and the idea that I might not contribute something important to the field.

THAT keeps me up now.

Think I may want to revise my answer. The worst part for me might just be having a significant other that doesn't grow and thus bitches at me about the room that growing takes up and the mess it sometimes makes. Recently decided to take over half of his garage, don't think he's super thrilled about that. 😂

Hey if you got the skill, rock it out bro! It seemed no matter how slow I moved I couldn't get consistent results with a SAB. I still have failures with a flow hood, but far less and things are far more consistent. I usually can figure out what I did wrong. Some times I think I might have bumped the jar lid, so that one gets a ? and I keep an eye on it. Some times I did and it tams out, some times it chugs along just fine. BUT I can usually know where I fucked up as my agar looks so much better than it did in a SAB.

For some it may not make a huge difference. For me it was night and day difference. I know my skill is not 100%, but just not having to worry about air currents is so nice. It is very rare I see contamination on agar, when not transferring away from it. And when I did get that mold, I found out that the old agar plates in the trash, that had popped open to the air, had been more or less farming it next to the hood. On occasion I loose a jar, but usually if I don't use a jar, it was because it just wasn't as fast as the other. Maybe it just got a smaller agar wedge, but these are masters. I hardly loose a bag, but when I do I am sure it is during the g2g into the bag, from the jar. I have got to get something worked out so I don't have to store my masters in my veg room, and risk higher levels of bad shit on the jars. I mean yea I wipe down with alcohol, but I want to get the masters into the cleaner lab.

I think I got under $250 in my home built 24x24 hood. $150 for filter shipped, $50 for 1/3 hp blower, and then wood, and silicone.

I was pouring plates today in my SAB and can't WAIT to build my flowhood. I knocked off my top two plates just being klutzy trying to peer through two fucking "arm holes". Just saying arm holes sounds so primitive. Filter is supposed to deliver on my birthday this Friday (yay) and already have the 1200 CFM blower. I think it's going to be a life changing experience.

The sheer joy and expectations when everything is going smoothly; jars look good, smell is good, genetics look great.  G2G 100+ jars.  Everything looks great.  Spawn to 10 tubs.  Shit genetics or contaminations galore...  Such a buzz kill. :frown:

That's the worst part, the let downs. 

But, what can I say, it just makes the good times even better!

Don't want to go too far off topic but if you want info I'm pretty happy with the 24x24 99.9% I bought. PM if you want details. Not a steal but acceptable for what I was looking for.

yea, but i just wanted to get started already. shrooms are so rare in my area, and if i do find any im skeptical of the person im getting them from.
