YES!!!

This can be a newbs worst nightmare! It definitely plagued me for a few years while being a creeper b4 I actually made an account.

Also PC is the worst for me...I dont trust leaving it alone so I have to babysit..then waiting for it to cool all the way!!! Forget about it!!:tongue:

This may be a little personal but fuck it, I love you guys. I'm on my 2nd marriage and my wife is :jiggly: and cool AF. We have a blended family so every other weekend the kids go to the other parent but they're getting older so they don't want to go so much anymore. I used to use the empty house time to blow up spawn, tranfers, subs, prep, etc but now we (mostly) have the entire weekends to ourselves so how do I juggle this "sacred" time when I really need to work on PC-ing master jars for 10 different PERFECT dishes that are almost to the edge of their dish??!!? This is my struggle and what keeps me awake at night.

There's some aspects of mycology that don't have much forgiveness for a schedule.

Can't you get the kids involved? My partner's youngun used to help me, but now he is obsessed with developing his own marijuana strain (he's 21, we aren't bad parents).

You may want to grow some gourmets as cover.

Yes defo the paranoia which is one reason I would no longer do it. I used to go to sleep thinking about my options if suddenly raided, knowing full well I would never get my tub to the toilet in time, let alone be able to flush it! But as you say theres other paranoid factors too such as disposal. If I had to choose I would say it was the fruiting stage when things have to move out into the open. This also used to mean, that when I actually tripped, the materials I kept in my house for growing, as well as the shrooms themselves, caused many a harrowing experience. I've never understood how people can grow cubensis as a long term hobby for this reason, though I think it depends on what kind of person you are (paranoid etc)...

Being a newbie and having just enough knowledge to be dangerous...

I know what I think good sterile procedure is but I am obviously fucking up somewhere because I have contamination so I am wrong about 100% knowing what good procedure is.

And second would be second guessing yourself because you are not quite sure being a newb and all... e.g. this colonization seems a little fast. But, ... I did pull from a really good sector. I will just wait a few days and see... Fuck it was cobweb mold.

Priorities.  Sometimes you have to sacrifice, cut back.  In the end you always have time for what’s important, and you obviously love your family and that’s awesome. Time is precious.

And that definitely wasn’t too personal.  Telling us about your hemmeroids or shit like that is too personal 😂

It's gotta be the legality for me.
I wish we didn't have to hide our work so much.
I'd so much love to show off my tubs to guests,or have a nice fruiting "center piece" for Thanksgiving.
I hate having to hide all the work that we all strive to perfect.:shrug2:
I guess that's another reason I love the shroomery tho.
I can chat about and show my illegal work without too much judgement.:lol:

Thing is- for some reason, i didn't expect my room to smell so strongly of shrooms from only 2 shoeboxes and yet it's like night and day when you transition from outside to inside of my room... The overwhealming aroma of fungus gives me nausea but i'm hoping enough time spent around it will maybe either get me used to or grow to like it :/

Bottlenecks.

Wherever they are.

Right now, for me, I need a flow hood.

I hate having to take SO MANY motherf*****g sterile precautions working out of a SAB in a sectioned off area... just to do G2G. It's a huge waste of time compared to what I could get done with a flow hood.

But, once I get that then it will just be something else. Probably PC capabilities, then clean up, then space issues, etc.

... ******* bottlenecks...

If you have a way to bulk pasteurize (steam) you can make a run at bulk steaming corn for 24 hours and then A2G those dishes... or make up slants and save it for later when you have a better schedule cleared up.

OR if you have that steamer... you could test something I can't just yet (my steamer is in storage... gotta go grab it next month)... bro, I think we can bulk steam oats for 24-48 hours and be safe using them as last generation spawn material.... :o

^^^^^ I'm not even going to debate that one. If nobody does it before me then I should have the answer for everyone before Christmas.

Seeing all the cool stuff online I can't afford.

TDog, you don't need to steam sterilize for that long. 8-12 hours should be enough.

Breaking up spawn. I break jars regularly. Shits a pain in the ass.

My favorite part is spawning new shoebox's as well as harvesting shoebox's

It takes me a bit of time, I listen to meditative music and find it extremely meditative and therapeutic.

Harvesting mushrooms makes me wonder if our death is similar. Something beyond our perception harvesting us and using us for good. The journey of the mushroom hardly ends when it is harvested and dried, it goes on to be consumed by man, and potentially makes for life altering sequences of events. Becoming the catalyst for paramount ripples sent through space and time.

Maybe we are just waiting for the gods to harvest and consume us so they can do the same :lol: nah I kid, but it does make.me wonder about our own death and journey...
