for all y'all bitchin about the pc...  get an all american electric canner.  its literally the best part of growing!  the 41qt fits 5 qts less than the non electric but its quiet!?!?!?!  plus its got a thermostat so u dont gotta sit an mess with the temp if its windy or someshit.  and the locking vent keeps a positive pressure inside until ur ready to open it.

then get the 25 qt.  just saying, if your paranoid about your neighbors hearing the sound it seems worth it to me.  i remember reading years ago about some kid that got busted in an apt cause his neighbor thought his pc sounded like a gas leak an called it in :frown:

A properly ran PC shouldn't be hissing and rattling that strong. Also running a PC isn't against the law. Your caning some food and they have no right to come look in your PC. I mean if someone showed up at my house, saying my neighbor heard a gas leak, I would simply point out I was canning some home made stew and that is what they heard. And so long as you don't have your grow shit sitting in the area where your gas is, that shouldn't be an issue. People need to a set of balls some times.

I taped 3 quarters to the top of my PC weight. It runs real nice and quiet until about 18psi. Which lets me know I should probably get up and adjust the temp

well, sound aside.  my stove sucks balls so if im not using the electric its outside on the propane burner which  will undoubtedly have me running  back an fourth to fuck with the temp while im trying to do other things...  (btw the presto instruction book says to keep the weight gently rocking to maintain adequate pressure)

I love my aa75x, never cared about how loud the rocker was on my old unit. I do love that once you have the temp controls dialed in for the 75x you can get a timer from a grow shop that does enough watts and then do whatever. I love being able to fill it and step away if I have to or want to.

They are a hefty price though, but I think worth it if your doing bags.

well, shitgoddamn!  I always just stuck to the instructions in the book.  never actually encountered another person operating a pc before.  It makes sense that it works as a pressure indicator if you have a model without a steam gauge.  my presto is from the 70's and I still have the original instructions

I don’t even think the sound of the weight is that loud. Maybe it’s a little more loud if you’re using a gas stove, but I’m not sure. I start on high heat but once it starts rocking I work it down to medium low heat so it’s just slowly rocking.

ALSO, you can run a presto at like 14pSI, making it quite and just add like 30 min to be safe. At 14 PSI you will hardly hear anything.

OR add a couple quarters so the extra weight keeps it quite at 15psi.

ok, steady jiggle is on point.  it bothers me a lot  :frown: maybe thats the worst part for me, lol....  and for exactly the reason that it isnt too loud is why i have to keep going outside too check an see if i can hear it to know if i need to fuck with the temp without walking all the way over to look at the gauge (if i were doing it on the burner) .  my neighbors are all chill as fuck tho

This is my main complaint too, so I bought a commercial dishwasher (like in restaurants) but can't figure out where to install it.    Will have to wait until I re-do the kitchen.
