Mosta the music I listen to is by the good old negroes * 5
    #24408311 -

And none of it is rap either

I'm talking James Brown, Chuck Berry, B.B King, Curtis Mayfield, Sly & The Family Stone, Solomon Burke, Muddy Waters, The Temptations, Jimi Hendrix, K.C and the Sunshine Band, etc

Post if most of the music you listen to is by the negroes or by the honkeys, or the other strains of mammals

I think with the crack epidemic of the 80's, everyone was so high on crack that they made rap and everyone still listens to it cuz they thought being high on crack was real cool. So now we got these little middle schoolers running around listening to music inspired by the crack epidemic with stolen background music and generic lyrics, wearing big chains and Ecko brand shirts, all because back in the day the CIA got everyone hooked on crack

I'm down with the smoother flavor of African-American cultural music.

Down with some of the ghetto flavor too though.

I like good hip hop

99% of it is garbage these days, doesn't even make sense, they need to lay of the lean and Xanax or something

I like everything you listed, I really like muddy waters

I like the dead, zeppelin, doors, Floyd etc also

Most of today's music is shit imo, bit doesn't everyone not really like the next generations music? My parents hated primus, because primus sucks

You realize the singer for KC and the sunshine band was white correct?  I too like "negro" music.  Grant green, herbie hancock, war, eddie kendricks, king floyd, most all the stuff you mentioned, the isley brothers, the ojays, wes montgomery, the meters, freddie king, nina simone...but I like rap too.  I think rap music is just another form of genius produced by black america.  Look at the impact it has made on music as a whole...the mpc, beat production, story rap.  Sure lots of the commercial garbage is unidimensional and shallow, but the genre deserves respect as there are plenty of true artists. The blues weren't considered "quality" music in musicians circles for a long time until people realized the beauty in the simplicity.  I see rap as just another form of folk music, its a reflection of the reality of the streets.  Rudimentary and crude isn't always a bad thing.

Hooray for the soul, syncopation, musical acrobatics, funk, and the struggle of the black man!  A discussion is what you wanted right?

A lot of rap from around the time samples classic R&B tracks.

I know a lot of Ethiopians so I listen to Tedy Afro.  I only speak English and wish I were bilingual.  Tedy sings in Arhamic which is related to the Aramaic tongue and Arhamic  is spoken by Ethiopians.
