Actually, believe it or not, King Crimson is playing on Wednesday (3/19) in Colorado. Then a few days later in Seattle, then San Fran, then LA...yes they are ON TOUR! Shit, here's a ticketbastard link:

Crimson is one of my favorites also, along with Zappa(especially w/the Mothers), and PRIMUS. To the list of prolific, essential bands of the last 30 years in similar tradition i would add The Police, and Rush. Oh, and Pink Floyd of course. I also groove on Steely Dan, but they're a bit more abstruse.

Damn, id love to see PRIMUS live sometime. But i seriously wonder if Les, Ler and Herb will ever hook up again. I don't like Brain so i don't care if he comes back. Last (and only) time i saw Les was with Oysterhead in Salem, Oregon. That was damn cool. Have you heard anything about the Les Claypool, Danny Carrey, and Adrian Belew project..........OH MAN! I hope i get to hear it!

I got to see Primus back in 98 with the Aquabats and Blink182. One of the best shows I've ever been to (if you subtract the blink182 set)!

I think that tool is the best band that is still around today, in fact i think tool is the best band ever. And primus is the shit too. And Rage, Deftones, and slipknot. What about dr octagon, does anyone listen to dr octagon? And we cant forget about Pantera.
Oh ya, chemical brothers and crystal method are bad ass too.

It was mentioned on toolband.com on Feb. 6. Here's an excerpt:

I've heard about in some other places. I guess they layed down some tracks in January or something. Pretty damn cool, huh? Who knows if we will ever hear this. We can only hope....

sorry, its jsut thatt modest mouse is really bad. Very cheesy lyrics, and they can barely play their instrements. Its ok to like them, as long as you know their stupid. I mean I like some stupid stuff too.

And i don't mind modest mouse, its jsut that i would never call them "amazing"

I forgot King Crimson was still touring I actually had a chance to head out and see them in Colorado but the show was sold out and I couldn't find a ticket. They are opening for a wanker band also and I didn't want to travel that far to see a half hour set(not sure what they would do?) cause my friends are going to all 3 nights at the filmore for string cheese. WTF is King Crimson doing opening for the ding cheese?

I remember mentioning Rufus Wainwright to a guy on the Dextroverse, and he said he would check him out if I checked out Modest Mouse. I never got around to it.

Rufus Wainwright is some hardcore crazy ass shit. I love him. Just don't beat me up when you find out just how hardcore he is ... :wink: (Assuming you don't know already, and haven't already beat me up.)

hmm, I should dig Poses up. I haven't listened to it in a long time.

Primus opening for Rush was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Two of the most instrumentally talented bands ever, playing in one venue.
