Music owns my soul
    #3032291 -

Haha... ok. So I have a wonderful experence one night on a trip with the Gods. All of a sudden I can't listen to slayer, slipknot, etc like I used to adore. Now I'm all into Grateful Dead, Phish, and String Cheese Incident. Just curious if anyone has other favorites that are like these bands... jam bands or just mad chill bands that are good on long "road" trips   Thanks in advance

I used to listen to what I call "Angry young man music" too. I think I eventually just outgrew it, when I outgrew my anger. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of your new musical choices as I have.

I would call it "angry young man music" though. I can say that with some authority too, because I used to LOVE Slayer when I was an angry young man. It just sounds like sillyness to me now.

Well yeah...

I'm sort of biased really. I think rock music is so very overrated. Its been milked so hard its udders are bleeding. I mean, how many fucking sounds can you get out of a guitar? Its such a limiting format. there's no-one really making "new", innovative rock.
