Can we get an explanation?

From someone who really knows? Rumors are flying around, I'd rather hear the truth.

Someone is attacking the Shroomery, do you know who it is?

What's being done to fix the problem and eliminate the possibility of it happening again?

Is 3D or Sacredshrooms involved?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, right now everyone everywhere is guessing and starting all sorts of rumors. Thanks. :smile:

Nothing yet. A hardware firewall to prevent such things to some extent costs $5000-$6000 , money which we currently don?t have.

Damn them! That's a lot of money for sure, but everyone knows this is the #1 mushroom website, I wish there were a cheaper way to fix this.

If we only knew what machine was committing this atrocity, a $10 baseball bat would work equally well.

Maybe everyone could donate to help cover the cost of said firewall?

How many active members does shroomery have?  Maybe if everyone sent a dollar or 5 dollars or whatever you could get enough fundage to fix the problem :smile:...

Just a thought...

Id donate whatever I could afford to.  Im new here, but I love this site.  The past 36 hours have been rough, serious withdrawals... lol.

Very correct, it's many thousands of machines - which makes this quite the predictament.  But, The Shroomery is not going anywhere so just consider this a little vacation time :grin:

Sure am glad the weather out here is kickin' it in the low 70's for the duration of the week :sun: :spliff:

Would this be a good time to implement the Premium Pay accounts?  Even if it wasn't to go into effect for a couple months I"m sure there are willing people ready to doante and wait. That extra cash could be useful right now I'd imagine.

Theres really nothing set up for these accounts yet. I'm sure the idea could be considered but it would take time and possibly some coding, as well as an account to receive the money at.

I don't agree with "superior" accounts as they would tend to alienate the financially challenged. I would shoot off a money order though.

I think someone should "hunt down and punish" the perpitrator, as someone once said.

Woohoo...I finally managed to log on.  The fix was pretty easy for me, but I really hope this whole ordeal can be sorted out sometime soon.  I know everyone is working as hard as they can on this.  Thanks admins for finding a quick fix!  If I can do absolutely anything to help just let me know.

I can't believe someone is doing this to the shroomery...I didn't realize anyone had this much hatred for us.  We must find them!

I agree with @cro because you're not "alienating" anyone by being "superior" its like a free email account, and for $20 more a year you get more storage. so maybe you can get say... more upload space per day for pics, or something to that effect. no one would be losing anything here i dont think, everything would run as normal and the shroomery could get some funding to keep all you people (including myself) a very happy addict.
