That is a very nice story!  20 years.  Very impressive.

Tell her that I'm impressed that she got the nerve up to go ask you to dance. I may be an extrovert, but I am shy, or self-conscious, when it comes to talking to a guy to whom I may be attracted. I don't think I would have been able to do it.

Huh.  How interesting it would be to be an introvert.  I can see why you would make close friends out of those that do become your friends.

As I said, I am a huge extrovert.  I can't *shaddup*.  And I have the opposite problem:  Everyone is my friend!!!  I have this problem of treating almost everyone I come into contact with as if they are a personal friend.   Not a good thing, prolly.

The only times I don't want to talk to anyone is when I get "down" about something.  Then, I just want to be left alone.

So.  When do we get to go back to slamming each other's genders???

Wish I could think of a snappy comeback.    :oogle:

That's one thing I've never been good at, is sexual jokes and stuff like that.  When I was a cocktail waitress, a long time ago, I made the worst tips of anyone because I didn't know how to joke back at comments like that.

Dun Dun DAH!!!

DoctorJ checkin in here.

I think its important to note, when discussing male/female relations, that the old skool archetypes and paradigms involving these matters no longer apply. I believe that this is due to the recent social upheaval which has given women more power than they have ever had before. I think, at this point in time, women have more power and less accountability than men do. I'm scared of women.

Women have always had certain biological powers. The sight of a pretty girl can trigger a chemical reaction in a man's brain that makes him stupid and obedient. It is my belief that women ran the world long before they had rights. I think nature played a cruel joke on men when she gave women the ability to remain aloof about sexual desire. Its these powers that made women "special" in the olden days (even though they had no rights).

Now, our modern society has given women legal rights, but nature has not rescinded their natural powers. Thus, in our current society, men are at a serious disadvantage to women. What really pisses me off about many women is that they do not seem to realize that "Special" and "Equal" are, by definition, mutually exclusive. Many women I have met demanded equal rights but couldnt grasp the idea of equal responsibility.

Example: Having children. Say I get a girl pregnant. I want an abortion; she doesnt. I'm screwed. It takes two to make a baby, but only one to keep it. Its her choice, but its my responsibility. Indeed, I have witnessed many women use this to their own advantage, "forgetting" to take their birth control and then stickin some poor dude with child support bills for 18 years. Most of the women reading this forum are morally above such things, but they are not indicative of the whole. I have met many women who view motherhood as a way out of productive output in life.

Someone said in this thread, that most of the men he knows are just out for sex, whereas most women he knows are out for a long-term committed relationship. I dont know where you are from, but I can tell you it aint that way here in D-town. Every man I know would love to have a steady girlfriend. Someone to come home to, and wake up next to. Men are logical creatures. We like stability.

Sadly, most of the women in my town are not that big on committed relationships. They tend to see men as a source of entertainment, and they get bored easily. I know a lot of girls that rarely pay for their own meals, drinks, clothes, etc... Thats what men are for! And when one man's bank account is empty, there are plenty more willing to empty their accounts just for the chance to enjoy just a little bit of feminine company. Sex doesnt even have to be involved. I read about a guy who embezzeled hundreds of thousands from his company in order to buy his mistress her own bar; he got caught and went to jail, and he never even got any.

Anyway, my point is that women can be just as abusive as men, and in fact, they have more legal and natural ability to be abusive towards men. I've seen innocent men hauled off to jail by the false accusation of a woman. I got a buddy who cant get a job because of a bogus rape charge on his record. I know men who have spent nights in jail for "domestic violence" even though the woman involved didnt have a mark on her body. "She said" always seems to outweigh "He said".

Dont get me wrong, men have just as much inner capacity for abusing women, maybe more. I've known women who have been abused and taken advantage of by men, and the stories they told were hideous. But, women almost always have legal recourse (though their emotions dont always allow them to take it), whereas there are numerous ways in which women can abuse men and not be subject to any legal recourse whatsoever. Our current society makes it much easier for women to be abusive towards men than vice versa. I think that that is where most of men's bitternes towards women comes from.

Huh.  Right.  Cause the fact that 1 in 3 women get seriously sexually abused in their lifetimes (and this is from a fairly respectable study that made good efforts to weed out false rape charges and suchlike) is a good indicator of how vile, manipulative and scheming those heinous vixens are.  CURSE THE WHOLE LOT OF THEM!!!  THEY ARE THE SOURCE OF ALL THE WORLD'S ILLS!!!!  What we need is a good ol' fashioned witch-burnin', that'd smarten them women-folk up right proper.  And re-institute 'rule of thumb' beatings for wives in order to balance out their feminine wiles.

Sure, there are probably mean, manipulative women out there.  I haven't really associated with any of them, and to my experience women are fabulous.  If you feel obliged to dislike the whole lot of 'em just because of a few bad apples then I'll just have to love
every last woman in the world in spite of the bad apples.  Except Condoleeza Rice.  She must die.

Me, too! They're mean and nasty and back-stabbing! And they talk about people behind their backs.

There is a solution to this: Don't have sex unless you are prepared to pay child support for the next 18 years.

I don't know if this is generally true. I have not hung out with women very much. I think they're boring and petty, for the most part. An attorney I know says women just want guys for their bank accounts and cars and whatever they can get from them.

The truth usually comes out in court, but yes, by then, the guy has spent a lot of time in jail, or a lot of money on attorney's fees.

I don't know which is worse. It's just as bad for a guy to hit a woman, but I agree that the ramifications for when a woman lies in court, or when dialing 911, are not as severe. Actually, women dial 911 for no good reason all the time and nothing happens to them. There are immediate consequences when a guy hits a woman.

Wow, you're really creative to have gotten all that out of what I wrote!

I'm simply identifying the problem. I did not state nor imply what I think the solution to this problem is, so I will now: Women need to be responsible. They need to make this decision themselves. I support equal rights for women wholeheartedly, I just think that they would do a lot better if they were more responsible and accountable. Neither I nor anyone else can force this on them. The decision must be made by them.

I guess what I am trying to say is this: I see women as equals, but I find myself consistently disappointed in their ability to be equals. Not because they dont have the potential to be equals, but because they seldom choose to be equals. that is all.

you, frog, are an honest woman. I have found this to be rare in your sex, so I commend you for it. I know its not easy. It certainly is not the path of least resistance for those of your gender.

5 shrooms for you!
