They will always blab their mouths. Let them have it. Especially the small things. The more open you are the more they'll speak. Not all of their opinions are right but some of them are. Either way you learn something.
A person who is always blabing and trying to be right, is asking you to sacrifice some assertiveness and keep the truth-searching in you head. Is that so hard to do? Sometimes it is, but if you remember to, just let him/her have it. They want you to learn but not to teach. So just be greedy, and dont tell them your points.
You'll get information about his/her personality and you'll get information that may be usefull towards building a more truthfull position. So take advantage of people who insist on being right. Because they're giving you quite a deal. You get all the learning and none of the calories burned trying to prove your own points!

hmmm, and so you learn the "right thing" and can still keep your head out of the sand to see the whole pic, cuz you dont have yer head buried in your opinion, and trying to prove to them your right thing is the right thing.
maybe i dont get it, but it made me think.

That's an interesting observation, David_Scape. I think that engaging in that kind of strategy may also help the other person take notice of their behaviour, and allow them to make the necessary changes to keep their interactions with others harmonious.
It is likely that this strategy would be much more effective if the other person's welfare remained first on our minds.
