Hey all that is fine by me but do not think you can come in here and post without me reading and/or replying to it. You wanna post elsewhere do so. But here I am required to read the threads and will reply to them as I see fit. You really need to lighten up or stop taking those drugs Markos was talking about. They seem to make you irritible or overly sensitive, if that truly is the cause.
As for me I bear burdens you have no way of knowing about but they didn't have to do with my family. You have tried repeatedly to get this forum changed to a 'psychology' forum, either to get help or give it, I could never figure out which. In any event if this forum or the Shroomery upsets you, you might want to consider professional help or a warm bath/cool shower. Remember whatever you problem is, it is not others. We draw trouble to us by our natures. Look at this thread and previous threads to see what you draw to yourself. Then think about it. Perhaps some solutions might occur to you that have to do with you and the way you relate to others. I wish you well, son.

I agree to a certain extent.
I'm always willing to share another shroomerite's reailty (point of view), for the intents and purposes of a thread.
If an idea is introduced to me that resonates with me, I'll adopt it into my worldview.
I think this thread got some great serious responses amidst the joking ones.
I havn't offered up any "truths" because I'm still comteplating the meaning of truth in the context of this thread.
Making generalisations about shroomerites' intillecutal capacities will not garner any truth out of them that's for sure!

Seriously though... why do you always make threads in which you attept to psychoanalyze the good people of the shroomery. I hope to God (with a capital G, just for you) that nobody bases their final conclusions on who I am based off of the posts that I make, even though that is really all we have to go by between most of us here.
Anyway... I was reading the bible this morning (*gasp* smack reads the bible?! ) and there was an interesting passage about how when people are talking in a foreign language that are talking to god, and when they are speaking something that others understand they are sharing what god has told them. when you are talking to god, you are growing... when you are sharing what god has said you are helping others grow. I would most definatly say that I often speak in a foreign language

With the definition out of the way, here goes my take on truths:
~ Judge not, lest ye be judged yourself.

I thought the previous post was clear and TRUTHFUL. At least in my

mathematically, i dont think there is such a thing b/c of probability.
math is the language of the universe...
we have never reached absolute zero, the stopping of all movement of atoms, but if we did would time actually stop (space & time cannot be seperated)? or are atoms just matter in "space?"
what makes up that space between atoms?
anyway my first thought is basically for truth to be, it has to be 100%, which cannot happen, there is ALWAYS an exception, perhaps its chaos or chance, a glitch in the matrix, i dunno. anyway, nothing i true, even what im saying, its all an illusion, wake up and see for yourself the truth that you, we, strive so hard to find, disect, define and and and and , its all fleeting!!!!

There is Relative Truth.
Why do you insist on confusing these two usages of the word TRUTH? The relative truth of all the minutiae of existence, such as your "TRUTH #1," really does not allow beings to share in, or commune with Absolute Truth, so what is the goal of your attempt here?
I have communicated some of our interactions to others, who have communicated back to me, and then me, indirectly to you. They did NOT have internet access, and yet have directly communicated with the Shroomery. An exception such as this destroys the apparent 'absoluteness' of your statement. Relative Truth is NOT Absolute in any sense. If you wish to include exceptions, even paranormal or ESP communications to members of the Shroomery, you will have to modify and expand your first truth. This kind of modification or change, again, destroys the seemingly absolute face of relative truth.
Allow me to remind you of John 18:35-36, when Jesus says, "Everyone on the side of truth listens to me," to which Pilate responds, "What is truth?" The famed response of Jesus is silence. He simply stood there in silence. Whole volumes have been written about the meaning of this wordless response from the Incarnate Word. Of course, the 'obvious' meaning is that standing there, simple Presence, 'speaks-for-itself,' so-to-speak Presence - Existence - Being are all words that apply to the expression of ABSOLUTE TRUTH that is written here. ABSOLUTE TRUTH is synonyous with ULTIMATE REALITY. Dropping the adjectives, we have TRUTH=REALITY, and since everything one could speak about comes out linearly, one word at a time, and REALITY must be understood to mean the ALL at-the-same-moment, one can 'say' nothing. Instead, one must 'say' with one's very being - one's presence.
In this regard, Jesus was not 'saying' something about Himself alone, He was 'saying' what is TRUE for everyone at any moment. It was not about His 'I AM,' or His very Being, but about Being - period. Being present - presence - pure existence - 'speaks' for itself just by existing. The Way to answer this question is in silence, in being.

There are many dimensions besides the one we view and see.
Proof.
There is not enough visible matter in the universe to keep the stars from being pulled into each other.
Therefore there must be a dark matter (that we cannot view), needed to warp the space-time and cause a gravitational pull, necessary to sustain stable atoms.
I would assume that should be a simple truth.

A singularity,
a point where the density of the universe would be infinite, and the point where most theories on the universe break down.
Maybe the universe expands and contracts like it is breathing, with hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of millions of years between each expansion and contraction.
The contraction would eventually lead to a new big bang singularity and a new universe.
But there is only 1/5th of enough visible matter to cause the universe to contract, 1/10th if you add dark matter, and that is still not even close to enough force to stop the universe from expanding.
But there may be many other forces we are unable to detect that eventually may account for the lost 90% of force.
This perhaps may be caused by a greater being.

I do not think you understood my commentary because you are responding, once again, with the notion of "truths," in the plural, which is not Truth in the singular - the Ultimate Concern (in the words of Paul Tillich). Moreover, "verified truth," is redundant, in as much as the Latin word 'veritas' means truth, so verified truth means true truth.
Truth is not equal to 'fact,' and furthermore, facts are not necessarily true. TRUTH, is not ascertainable [i.e., learned with certainty] through this dialogue.
Submit verification? How can I know something for you? You can verify your own existence, I trust.

I believe this is true because I have had many experiences with them. I also have dreams with the same beings. All of the people that have been with me when I have had experiences with these beings all agree that they do in fact exist. From my perception, it is impossible for them to not exist. Beyond that I have read many stories and heard many stories from others who have very similar experiences (with beings)
Beyond that, the Universe is so large that it would be irrational nonsense for us to believe we are the only highy evolved species of life in it, and that there is most likely even more highly evolved forms out there.
I also feel that all these beings are connected at the source (god) but that is something else...

Truth is a person. God Himself. and this truth is absolute. if you have decided that absolute truth does not exist, then in your world nothing is or ever can be true. So when you say absolute truth does not exist, that statement may or may not be true, so why even speak?
Aliens, I never really believed in them, but I also never had any experience with any thing that I could classify as an alien. A lot of people say that it is arrogant to think that we are the only intelligent life in the universe. Just because the universe seems infinate why does there have to be anything out there? (just a thought not an attack on you)
If I have all the parts to a television and I collect them and throw them out of a window a perfectly good working television will not just fall into place. It has to be created/put together. Even if this were done infinate times, the parts would never just form a television that worked. So its hard for me to believe that such a complex man could just come out of nowhere. It seems to me then that another truth for the list is that man was created.
Sometimes people are looking for evidence, I often wonder what would you need to experience or see to believe that something is true. I think it has to be truth itself, which is God. God can show you the truth.

this is a good thread. I just wonder what you, enter, are expecting to build up to. I am sure you could compile the things that have been said and put together in one post some of the basic truths, and then lead up to some of the more profound truths, while adding at the end what you are dissapointed in not seeing.
this might be more helpful than suggesting that there is a lack of thought on the shroomery.

You seem to read the dictionary in the same (rather sterile) cut-and-dry way that you read the Bible - like you're following an instruction manual for auto-repair, or building a swing-set for children. Well ive just read the entire thread and i think all ive learnt is that "truth" is a very vague concept these days - i think we only really deal in beliefs with probabilities attached to them. Clinging to truths is a shortcut to thinking.

How can you say logic is not a box. Any belief you hold, is a mind trap. To go beyond the box one must let go of belief. Enter, you are trying to control this thread because you have built expectations in your mind and everyone's reaction to your attempts at control are simply confirming your expectation that you are the only sane person when in actuality irrationality and insanity are quite human behaviors. People don't like discussing deep stuff all the time, especially when the guy who started the thread ALWAYS seems to hold some secret knowledge that's always just right around the corner yet never appears. You have to remember that you don't hold a monopoly on "truth" my man....

one thing I have learned is that saying general random things like, computers use windows, cars need gas to function, shit does indeed pour out of a little hole, etc.

today It occurs to me that the following must be without a doubt true and accpted by most living beings to be true and irrefutable
1. our Earth is clostest in physical shape to a sphere..
2. There are laws of basic physics as we understand them, that bind us. ex.- "Gravity"
3. In all animals physical expression is a basic form and foundation of animal to animal communication.
4. Every menatlly functioning human being IS capable of reflective thinking.
5. Once there is an occurance of any sort, there can never be the exact same identical occurence.
This is how I see the point of this forum.
