You seem to read the dictionary in the same (rather sterile) cut-and-dry way that you read the Bible - like you're following an instruction manual for auto-repair, or building a swing-set for children. It's all very monotone - you are missing the very real spiritual and emotion flavor of the 'transitives' that connect the 'substantives.' Take the training-wheels off or you're never gonna become a proficient thinker. The potential is there, but you don't trust your ability to think outside the book, or the box, which in your case amounts to the same thing. Wear a cross around your neck, or take some garlic, but throw off that straightjacket!

Well ive just read the entire thread and i think all ive learnt is that "truth" is a very vague concept these days - i think we only really deal in beliefs with probabilities attached to them. Clinging to truths is a shortcut to thinking.

How can you say logic is not a box. Any belief you hold, is a mind trap. To go beyond the box one must let go of belief. Enter, you are trying to control this thread because you have built expectations in your mind and everyone's reaction to your attempts at control are simply confirming your expectation that you are the only sane person when in actuality irrationality and insanity are quite human behaviors. Also, it is insane to expect anything resembling order to come from a bunch of people that are coming here for entertainment and pleasure.

Universal law- Chaos is increasing exponentially. Deal.
Universal human law- Karma fucks with you. Suck it up.
Universal human law- Truth is subjective.
Universal human law- Control is illusion. Boo hoo.

Of course there is truth: You've gotten way too worked-up over this thread. Please try and calm down...

People don't like discussing deep stuff all the time, especially when the guy who started the thread ALWAYS seems to hold some secret knowledge that's always just right around the corner yet never appears. You have to remember that you don't hold a monopoly on "truth" my man....

Truth #69 - Our collective reality is made of language, meaning subjectivity is the only "truth." Objectively-speaking, all we can do is discuss our interpretations of our truths through very inadiquate (woah i'm sure i spelled that wrong... www.dictionary.com... yes its "inadequate") language.

one thing I have learned is that saying general random things like, computers use windows, cars need gas to function, shit does indeed pour out of a little hole, etc.

and then saying something like, love is the greatest force...

Somehow there are more basic truths, and then there are deeper more meaningful truths.

You don't get it. I get logic - got an 'A' in Boolian Algebra when I was a philosophy major. Your statements about the obvious may be about factual things and events, but we're comparing apples to oranges with regard to the word Truth, so I'm outa here.
