Most of the time people are very receptive if you PM them and explain the situation with them. I've never had a problem with anybody that I've had to warn or have edited. If you treat people with respect, they usually return it to you. It's the few random trolls that usually cause problems. Unfortunatley, Shroomism and the others usually get the assinine puppets at night. :smirk: I don't see many during the day. (Not that I want to :wink: )

Well, I nominate myself for the title of Jesus in the Shroomery. My avatar shows why I should be Jesus.

As Jesus, I could have permission to perform miracles. I could fly around and smoke pot and spread the good word.

People could PM me for forgiveness and shit, and they could rub my feet with oil and such.

Then, when people give me shit for no reason (i.e. anytime i show up in OTD :grin:) I can say "sure, sure, hang me on my cross why don't you" and it will have more meaning then.

Just think about it, okay? hehe

Personally I get my kicks seeing how much abuse I bestow on a puppet before he gets banned...but then again I'm the type of guy that usually laughs at other peoples misfortune.

In all honesty though, it would be cool to have at least have the ability to temporarily ban someone, until an Admin reviews the situation

i have nothing against abusing puppets then banning them afterwards but some situations might need immediate bannings (such as legal purposes)

Easier said than done.  There currently is no available feature to allow this and it would have to be manually coded and implemented into this and each successive release of the UBBthreads software.
So, it probably won't happen :frown:

In a case such as that (which I handled), the user needs no warning.  They clearly did not take any time to familiarize themselves with the etiquette and rules of the board and were in all odds trying to be a nuisance.

Due to the nature of our website, we have a certain degree of protection.  As long as we make a conscious and quick effort to expunge illegal activity as soon as possible, then we are for the most part in the clear.
