Matrix 3: Oops!

Damn. The Wachowskis blew their philosophical load on the second movie. They shouldn't have cared whether or not the story would please the masses or not (though they did knock them in the end).
I DID like some parts of it very much though. However, it is far easier and shorter for me to simply point out what I didn't like.
**************************WARNING***************************** **********************MOVIE SPOILERS BELOW**********************
My Grievances: - too little philosophy - bipolar plot flow - a few too many "intimate" scenes - do modern martyrs still have to die? I'm not so sure. - the blinding of Neo was kinda lame - alot of the dialog seemed forced - too many cheesy lines - too many "puzzle piece perfect" lines - some of the characters sucked - they plot explored way too many characters - the music sucked for the most part (though you have to like the Django Reinhart)

I've enjoyed both Matrix films so far, I just always got the feeling that they were trying too hard to be "cool" and not hard enough to be "good".

No... I meant the second. The Wachowskis hit on all that philosophy in the second movie, but they barely touched on it in their third movie.

Warning: IF you havent seen the third movie... you probably dont want to read what im about to write due to spoilers...
I knew he was gonna ***. It set it up in the stories... Neo would have to *** for others to go on. This is naturally the state of affairs though... he was the anomaly. In order for the "equation" to be solved, he had to have been lets say... set to zero... as so they set it up. What is interesting is seeing how they constructed this movie, for its right i think its a real piece of art. Its beautiful in the sense at the extremes in detail... the "far out" ideas... truely nothing like i have ever seen before. Maybe im being partial because of the fires it ignited in me 5 years ago or so. I think these "movies" should be treated as one... like dune... To see it only as one movie... and then add in all those internal clips make a huge difference. But the movie could not have been solved in one movie. It needed a series, sure it left people hanging but i dont think it dissolved the integrity of the film. Sure things arent always going to be what we imagine them to be, but I think its important to appreciate what is there, and the care and skill that these people put into it. I wanna wait for all of them to come out on DVD... so i can have them all for myself...hehehehe... and so i can watch them all at once... al in a row.

I'm still digesting the movie and it's symbolism. But my first impression was, meh .
That's what I want to discuss.
Spoilers!!!
Did you notice that Mobil Ave., the train station, is limbo mixed up?
What did the little girl represent?
Lot of Christian symbolism.
Did you notice when he was in Machine City, and was talking to the one entity right before he jacked in, he didn't have any jacks on the back of his neck. Was that a fuck up, or did it mean something?

i dont know if you meant to say something else... but if he wasnt jacked in... wouldnt that account for the lack of jacks in his back? Lol.
I think that entity was the architect.

Mobil is also an oil company I thought it was pretty good, though it did lack some of the depth of the other two films. I thought it flowed much better than Reloaded, and the "action scenes" were led up to MUCH better than Reloaded. I wish it had more philosophy in it though

Once, men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

No, that is what I meant.
The plugs only disappear when he is jacked in. When he is in the "real world", you could see the plugs.
He traveled to the surface of the earth to Machine City, and during his encounter with the entity (which I also believed was the architect), it shows him from a back shot and he has no plugs.

Was anyone else reminded of the Madhatter in regards to the train man. Especially with all the watches he had on, though it was the white rabbit in wonderland that was technically the one worried about being late, and ofcourse he was referenced in the first film as a tatoo. Also in watching the first film i noticed that between scenes there is a short transitional scene that was zooming in on a bunch of monitors then when zoomed in all the way it was the next scene, the monitors were i think the ones in the architects office, i think the transition was from his point of view. I know some were disappointed with revolutions but i loved it, my only complaint is i wish neo would have lived ofcourse and trinity too, but mainly i wanna know more about the importance of the little girl, why sereph was glowing gold in reloaded, and more about the nature of the "source". Ofcourse the oracle said that she wasnt sure they'd ever see Neo again at the end of the film so its open for him to comeback somehow if they ever do sequels, and i'm sure they could find away to bring trinity back if they wanted to, who knows what medical technology the machines have Sincerely, That which is, and has no choice but to be
