I'm sorry, but the attitude you take towards life creates the experience of life that you receive. This thought is so simple and yet so easy to forget.
Take a deep look into your feelings. Are you satisfied with your life? What is it that is keeping you down?
All it takes is a snap of your fingers and some positive thinking to instantly get up off your ass and do something about this life that you are living. You can either change or you can be ground under by change.
Life is fucking great. If you think it isn't, then you are fucking missing out.

If I was an Ethiopian child, and had to live like that, I would still think the same way only if there was some sort of circumstance that allowed me to have access to similar thoughts.

If you were an ethiopian child who was half starved to death, had seen his/her parents die and was suffering from various illnesses, life would not be great and saying a few "affirmations" wouldnt change that. Life is not always, fucking great nor is it particularly amazing all of the time.

The attitude you take towards life creates the attitude you take towards life. It does not on the other hand create your life experience. It may effect what life experience you have as a positive frame of mind can lead you down different paths but just having a postive outlook does not mean you are going to avoid unpleasant life experiences.

Hell, if I was that kid, I would say "What the hell do I have to lose now", and then pursue something knowing that if I failed at it, it wouldn't really matter in the end anyways.
At least that is what would eventually pull myself together if it was me that was dropped in Ethiopia, it was me that was starving, and it was me that had my parent's die. If i was a different person entirely, there is absolutely no way I could know ANYTHING about how I would feel, because my only experience of life is what I have now.
But if I was put through the same experiences as the Ethiopian kid, no matter how much "life would suck", I know that I would get back up on my feet. I have seen what it is like to truly live and would NEVER give that up, no matter what happens.

You seem pretty sure how "you" would deal with these situations and dare I say it, you sound fairly impressed with how "you" would deal with that situation.
Perhaps you should try a little experiment. Spend a couple of weeks surviving on half a bowl of rice a day...Just to give yourself a sense of perspective on what you are actually saying. You dont really buy into this suffering is all in your head nonsense do you? I know you think you could positive think through anything im just saying dont believe everything you think, even if it is positive.

If you were an etheopian child starving I doubt you would ever have gotten to the point to reach the wonderful conclusions that seem to work for you now. You would be a completely different person. Life would more than likly suck for you if you didn't die within the fist few years of your life from disease and such.
Also you cannot really have this logic only go in one way if it is what you really believe due to duality. "The experience of life that you receive creates the attitude you take towards life." Can also work. If one is true so if the other, because we are nothing but reflections of our opposites. One cannot exist without the other.

Well, if you dare say how that I sound fairly impressed with it, then you dared to say it... but it doesn't mean that I am.
I sound pretty sure of myself because I know the way that my mind works and I know how I deal with different situations. With the knowledge that I have received from life so far, and a certain state of mind that I can relatively easily enough access, I KNOW that I would eventually pull through anything and get back on my feet. "There isn't any point in laying here and fucking hating myself." Shit like that.
There isn't any point in dwelling on shit in the past. And if I am in a situation right now that I don't like the way things are going, I will get up and do something about it. I mean, life is too fucking short to fucking sit around on a couch all day (or on the side of the road, or what the fuck ever) and fucking feel like life sucks and there is nothing I can do about it. Because there IS something I can do about it.

Dude, I have a sense of what it is I am saying. Do you know how many situations have caused me to question this shit? Do you know how many times I have battled in my head over this shit? There is a reason I believe what I believe and think the way I think.
Suffering IS all in your head. Suffering is a negative feeling caused by a certain experience or situation. However, it is only our mind that links the certain experience to suffering. I can't say how I would cope if everyone in my family died tomorrow, this house burnt down and I was left with no money, no home, and no family. However, no matter how much it would suck, I would HAVE to get back on my feet and still live my life. That is just the way it is.
