Rich people also pay most of the taxes, like the vast overwhelming majority of the taxes.

Cuz they got the "overwhelming majority" of the income and wealth!    :flowstone:

No one is stopping you from doing the same thing the rich people did to get wealthy. Quit doing drugs, get an education, start a business or climb the corporate ladder. Then after you put in all that time and effort, you can go give all your money to the poor people who do nothing to better their situation.

You don't understand how the ultra rich got their money, they don't go to work, they don't climb corporate ladders, that is for low level millionaires.

The ultra rich own the very system that they operate in, that's why paying the few crumbs in taxes is essentially meaningless to them at the end of the day.

If you want to call buying off the politicians and controlling the banking system work, then yes, they do work.

If you think having massive access to capital that no one else has a talent, then you're very misinformed, this is called crony capitalism, it's called owning the playing field.

We've been on food stamps for years, I have not had a job until very recently. Wife was the only one working. I have no shame for having them. No they did not go solely to nutritional food, but the vast majority of it did. Yes we did occasionally buy ice cream or soda or something with them. I'd of been more than happy to pay for my own food, but haven't been able to find a job. I'm sorry but I refuse to subject myself to retail hell or flipping burgers. Plenty of people like to say "a job is a job" but these same people are people who if in the same circumstances would also refuse to go into those positions. They'd keep looking for a career opening where putting time into the company actually gets you somewhere.

I disagree. I worked fast food for almost a year. A job is a job. Plus working a shitty job looks better on your resume than a gap of unemployment.

Fast food eats your soul and pays you poverty wages. A job is not a job when it's fast food. If you can keep working there, more power to you, but I refused to do it. Fast food made me literally want to kill myself within a couple of months. I LITERALLY contemplated suicide daily near the end of my employment there.

I now make very good money and pay plenty of taxes back into the system.
