Quantum Chaos and Consciousness
    #18488937 -

When a photon or an electron is spitted into 2 different superpositions it can decohere into either one in a seemingly random fashion. Chaos theory describes how small differences in the initial states of chaotic systems can grow exponentially. Such small differences in the initial states of chaotic systems might come from the decoherence of particles existing in more than one superposition. If this is the case, seemingly random quantum fluctuations can cause chaotic systems to evolve in different ways.

Neural networks form complex systems that have elements of chaos within themselves. So if seemingly random quantum fluctuations are amplified in chaotic systems, they might also be amplified in neural networks. Visualized patterns of chaotic systems look like fractals. Many people that use psychedelics also claim to see fractals. If our neural networks have an element of chaos within themselves, this element of chaos seems to be be amplified with psychedelics.

What is consciousness? It might be quantum chaos in our brains. And if psychedelics increase quantum chaos in our brains they might actually also make us more conscious.

the neural network model may have nothing to do with consciousness and associative memory, while it may be involved in selecting between some feedback and timing circuits - bearing possibly on attention and coordination.

no model for memory of the type we experience uses neural networks, and no model for consciousness is complete without associative memory

Sounds like you are seeking justification rather than evidence for the stoned ape theory?

This is not related to the moronic stoned ape theory of Terrence McKenna. I already have plenty of evidence that Terrence McKenna was wrong.

Then elaborate on this too differentiate it from the stoned ape theory.

You say it increases it which would and could also imply that is  how ours evolved. Or how do you prevent that implication?
