Hey Shroomism... are you gonna start this bullshit, useless censoring thing again? Swami's post contained no personal attack, no foul language, and no incredibly offensive material (ala Malachi).

I'm lending support to this cause.

The power of being a moderator is there to keep the board under control, rather than to enforce the moderator's personal beliefs. If the moderator's beliefs are under attack, it is an unfair application of the moderator's powers to stop the discussion.

This isn't about my personal beliefs. This is about Swami starting a thread to flame/mock a general group of people, which achieves nothing. Had a similar thread been started by someone else that was aimed towards the 'skeptics', it would have been locked also. This is the Spirituality and Philosphy forum, not OTD. I didn't censor anything.. I locked the post. If I had censored the post, you would not be able to read it. If you would like to question my actions, or request that I reconsider them, you can PM me, or an admin. But starting another thread is not the solution. As for now I will leave this thread open, but if it degrades into attacks it will be promptly locked. Thank you.

I honestly can't imagine why someone would post in the spirituality forum for the sole point of trying to convince himself there is nothing mystical in this world.

I am truly sorry for you swami....and hope that one day you may move beyond your fear, confusion, and personal walls and 'see' beyond this shallow world.

Not precisely what he was doing. He was pointing out a basic contradiction he saw as present in certain past statements on this board. Admittedly, the method he was using to convey it was somewhat mocking, but that's part of the concept he was communicating.

maybe spirituality and philosophy should have their own forums, that would end alot of ideological conflict.

I don't think that spirituality implies mysticism, or that mysticism is more spiritual than for example trigonometry. There is a lot of superstition and fantasy that is passed off as "spiritual truth" just because it sounds even more mysterious and fascinating that way. Anyone who posts criticisms of such sloppy thinking does the world a big favor.
