I still like the quote from the Boondocks where Ed Wunceler asks Robert Freeman "What's your view on homosexual marriage?" and Freeman says "Well, personally I think all marriage is wrong". Always made me laugh.

I don't care so much about the CEO's bigoted views. What is really pathetic is the rallying behind him with the "National Chick-fil-A Day". But we'll see where God stands when they lose profits in the long run.

Have you ever read the red letter words in the New Testament? Jesus is describing the behavior of Christians and condemning it as hypocritical. The Bible is like a clearly-labeled tracer isotope that accumulates in areas of bigotry and hypocrisy. It's such a mind-fuck.

I look at it as he has every right to support anything he wants with his money.

HOWEVER, if I eat there, then I am indirectly giving MY money to whatever cause HE picks. If I know about the cause, and believe that it is wrong, then I won't help support him support the cause. Its pretty simple I think.

People choosing to not eat at Chik-Fil-A = persecution

A guy spending millions to keep gays from getting equal rights = not persecution

Got it.

Also, its one thing to be against gay marriage as a personal opinion, and another to funnel millions of dollars into "traditional" advocacy groups to keep equal rights from gays.

I just can't give a shit about the definition of marriage, I think the government has zero business being involved in it at all including setting tax rates based on marriage status.  But that is not what this is about.  This is about a cadre of punk thug politicians threatening private citizens who would enter into a business venture being intimidated by the man with the legal gun from transacting business in his preferred area solely because he has a viewpoint regarding something that is perfectly legal that does not coincide with the local mullahs.  Make no mistake that is exactly what these punks are acting like.  Mullahs.  Ireanina mullahs and Saudi sharia police.  The fact that their doctrine is different is utterly irrelevant.

I like the theological implications of it, though. It's as if the Bible is magnetically attracted to people it warns against, and quoting it is like a signal: "Do not listen to my arguments, because I am beyond the capacity for reason. Get away before you're like me. :zombie:"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution

Persecution is the systematic mistreatment of an individual or group by another group. The most common forms are religious persecution, ethnic persecution, and political persecution, though there is naturally some overlap between these terms. The inflicting of suffering, harassment, isolation, imprisonment, fear, or pain are all factors that may establish persecution. Even so, not all suffering will necessarily establish persecution. The suffering experienced by the victim must be sufficiently severe. The threshold level of severity has been a source of much debate.[1]

A while ago I friended most of my highschool class and one of them was a gay conservative.  It's hilarious how full of himself he is and how weirdly he reacted to this chick-fil-a controversy.  At first he was offended, but now he is supporting the whole first amendment side of it.  He even went to the costumer appreciation day they had.

He's so full of himself too, it's hilarious.  This is his most recent post;
Quote:
Sometimes I think people over look the kind of strength it requires to be gay and conservative. You give up a lot to voice your political beliefs and you risk a lot in the process. Its so easy to come out of the closet and be an openly gay man in today's society, but coming out and declaring your conservatism... THAT takes real courage, a strong stomach, and nerves of steel.

There was a funny exchange earlier today involving him and another fag.  It was involving this picture and he said it was probably a leftist gay person who did it.  Then another gay guy came on saying he was tired of his shallow and generalistic posts and that he is going to defriend him or something.  He basically had a melt down all caps locked out and stuff.

I don't agree with his views and he is very generalstic but the only reason I don't unfriend him is because the drama queen he is and how much shit he instigates...it hilarious.

In certainly communities it is absolutely more acceptable to be a homo than to be a conservative.  Especially in the homo community.  The conservative community is more accepting of homos than the homo community is of conservatives.

What I find disturbing is people screaming that Chick-Fil-A is 'discriminating' because the CEO SAYS he is against gay marriage.  I don't find expressing an opinion discrimination.  There is something in our country called 'Free Speech.'

Now, I support gay marriage.  However, I also support the right of a person who owns a business to say he doesn't.

It's really the hate groups that sticks in people's craw. If it was just his opinion then who cares, but he give money to groups that are dedicated to deprogramming gay people. When you shop at Chick-Fil-A you are literally sponsoring virulent homophobia. That goes beyond "speech", that actually does in fact flirt with persecution, and the boycott is justified.
