God, the Love and Fear dilema
    #1584273 -

How can one truely love an entity and fear it at the same time ?
One could be overjoyed with the belief that God created us, loves us more than we can ever imagine, chose to create each and every one of us, and created heaven for us. However, if u consider the whole concept of hell, eternal damnation if u break a few rules, it's very disturbing. How can one love God with the realization that he could cast one into eternal pain and suffering for one wrong move ?

the thing i dont get about christianity, is if God can see the future, and knows all, and is all yadi yada, then how could there be choice? because if god knows what you will choose, whats the point of living, since you would already be damned if god knows it...you know? but then again..the bible has a lot of contradictions so... http://www.infidels.org/news/atheism/extra/bible-contradictions.html

I guess one could argue that "knowing" about an event does not imply responsibility. i.e. if I were psychic and knew about events going on in other places, I wouldn't be automatically responsible for them. I guess the idea is that God has given people free will, and will let us do as we please to some extent. If he can see the results of our choices he does not interfere, but that does not make him responsible for our choices.
