Now let us all say a prayer of thanks that Diploid's power does not reach beyond the capacity to ban people from the Shroomery

That's what I WANT you to think. MUHahahahaaaah!

/TC mystiriously stops posting or answering calls or showing up for work

Theists are inherently irrational

People who believe that made up things are real are irrational (or maybe insane but that's not any better) by the definition of irrationality. Sorry if the truth hurts. It's still the truth.

--------------------
Republican Values:

1) You can't get married to your spouse who is the same sex as you.
2) You can't have an abortion no matter how much you don't want a child.
3) You can't have a certain plant in your possession or you'll get locked up with a rapist and a murderer.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

I do provisionally pending revision in the face of new evidence.

Are you willing to consider that theism and faith are different things?

Sure. If the evidence supported that.

So let's take a look at the evidence:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/

1) the-ism noun: belief in the existence of a god or gods

2) faith noun: b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof

Theists believe in god. There is no proof of god's existence. Therefore by #2, theists are faithful. QED

Finally, someone 'gets it'! Yet they are essentially arguing against that fact.

Quote:
1)
a. the Being perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped as creator and ruler of the universe
{Note: There are no claims of supernatural power, human authority, religious compulsion, or exclusivity in this definition.}

b. Christian Science : the incorporeal divine Principle ruling over all as eternal Spirit : infinite Mind

2)
a being or object believed to have more than natural attributes and powers and to require human worship; specifically : one controlling a particular aspect or part of reality

3)
a person or thing of supreme value

4)
a powerful ruler

I've bolded the definition of God you seem to be personally hung-up on and italicized the one you consistently ignore in pursuit of cheap gratification at the expense of respect for and of others.

But what if we define things differently on-the-fly, a tactic never before seen here...

So whenever you say a word, you're using every available definition for that word?

You know, I used to find your writing fairly easy to understand, but now I'm just confused as hell.

I can always tell when someone starts to realize that their argument is full of holes because they switch from debating the topic to insulting the person they're debating with.

It's also against the rules. :nono:

Said the one who still refuses to address that his arguments hinge upon a narrow definition of a word that has a broad range of meanings.

Here's how that goes. If it sounds like a joke, it's not as I have witnessed it here numerous times.

Word X has nearly unlimited defintitions.

Poster 1: ... and that's why I don't believe in Word X.

Poster 2: Don't be silly. I was talking about Word X1.

Poster 1: ... and that's why I don't believe in Word X1.

Poster2: Are you just going to ignore Word X2?

Poster 1: ... and that's why I don't believe in Word X2.

Poster2: As if Word X3 is not a valid perspective.

And the Circle Jerk continues.

He did in fact kill people for THEIR belief in a god.

But not because god told him to.

/sigh

God is telling religious people to kill now? You mean it's not the individual telling themselves that god told them and it actually was a message from god? so god exists now?

The original thread is that people kill for their belief in god, not because god told them to
