I prefer pureeing the poiosonous mushroom slurry, and massaging it vigorously into my scrotum and taint.

I pick cyans at a church every year! They're odd looking mini-cyans with very bright orange caps. They also blue much darker than the normal cyans I pick.

It's all the holy water runoff that makes them a bit odd.  I think it's the guilt.

Whole lot of nothing in my part of the city.  It feels way too dry, and I'm thinking the way the weather's looking isn't going to help anything.  I did find a couple of Aminitas, but they were pretty aged and bug-chewed.

ID HELP --Beautiful Iridescent Blue Stem Mushroom North Oregon Coast [Re: capncrunch]

Here Is An Interesting Mushroom Found In A Forested Grassy Area Near Northern Western Coast Of Or..  It Was the only One I Saw.  Around 6 Inches Tall Wet/ 5 Inches Tall Dry.  I Am No Expert On Active Mushroom Collecting, Although I Do Hunt --- I Just Never Have Positively Identified Any Azure Or Cyan--- So I Never Eat.  This Mushroom Struck Me As A Very Sacred Find. The Entire Stem Was The Most Amazing Iridescent Purple I Have Ever Seen in Any Mushroom. Please Help Identify. Wish
I Had Pictures Of It Wet. It Was Growing Right Next To This One. With No Glowing Purple In The Stem.

The first one was likely a Cortinarius of some sort. The second one is just a shriveled little brown mushroom in this state. Impossible to ID. At least for me.

Here we go:

I found these up on a hill in a rather woody area, although where these were found were before the actual 'woods' in the spot I was in, and was in some grass basically. There were only 4 of them and two I picked to get these pics/prints





That one weird looking one was an assumed rotten mushroom still in the ground.

The spore-color is purplish brownish blackish, it's hard to tell. That being said I 'do not' think they are any kind of psilocybe. Maybe panaeolus sp. but idk I'm not that good at ID'ing misc species.

Btw I'm still not finding many mushies at all -- either I'm looking in all the wrong places or the weather's just not quite right for it yet here.

Thx, I'd buy that ..since wiki says they can often occur when other mushrooms don't seem to be around. Those were my only finds that day and they were indeed hygrophanous although I can't find a definite match as to the species.

Went hunting again today, different places this time and found the following :smile:





The first two mushies were found in a lawn which was not being very well-taken care of. The third, little pins, were found in a small field which in the spring/summer comes to life with all kinds of daffodils (really pretty, it seems to change color depending on the time-of-year.) Now it's pretty much dead for the year but those pins were found in it.

I didn't take any of them to do sporeprints or anything cause the first 3 pics ones were the only ones in the lawn and the last ones looked to be still growing yet.

I know you guys don't wanna give out certain locations around the good city of PDX or the burbs, but it's hard finding cyans around here for me!
Could someone direct me in the right place? I mean, Pm and give me some tips on where I should be looking? I know Cyans grow in light brown to greyish wood chips but to no avail have I seen ANY. I remember I heard that the Kruse Way field in Lake Oswego used to have a plethora of actives, but I think they got rid of the field. :[
Your help is much appreciated.

It's not Boletus Mirabilis.  They grow from decaying logs most of the time and the stem suggests some kind of Leccinum.  Possibly Leccinum scabrum (Birch Bolete).
