Greetz to the PNW crew! New Season upon us!
    #1996195 - 10/10/03 06:35 AM (13 years, 1 month ago)

Just wanted to say hi to y'all! Now that cyan season is here (man it looks like I'm slackin already given the Seattle/Bellingham postsI've seen so far!), I'm looking forward to the hunt again!

Last year I got into the swing somewhat late, but hope to visit my old spots first to see what's up.

Hope you all have a fruitful season and maybe you'll see me out there!

BTW, I just wanted to underscore the comments made in other threads about treading lightly.. I still have memories last year of some Duwamish dingleberry rooting up plants etc. trying to find pins beneath the mulch surface. How unnecessarily desperate!

Anyway.. good luck all! Maybe I'll find some new patches in my home turf in Kitsap county.. where the pickin's are slim!

Save me a ferry ride hahaha!!

Howdeee MJ!!

The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way that I can understand.

I live in the PNW. Redmond. I found my first ever mushroom patch on the out-skirts of a lawn. It has three varieties that I know are active.I would like help positively identifying them.
One type has a cap that looks exactly like Psycliocybe welli with a knobby twisted stem that is verry white and bruises dark blue, no ring. The spore print is brownish purple. Are they Wellis'?
I 'll try to post a pic..

Next time you go on a trip, I recommend listening to Her Satanic Majestys Request by the Rolling Stones. You'll be glad you did.

My guess would be baeos, weilii don't grow here. Of course without pics, a guess is all it is... If you really found 3 active species in one area that is a rarity, get pics.

Heheh sounds like another newbie has found their way into our shittalking hall of fame. What you got growing on the lawn is no doubt Ps cubensis, Ps weilli and Pan cyanescens, its kinda uncommon around here in the cold but my cousin ricky out in woodville finds this all the time.

stay off my land

hahahahaha thats great. Yes this season promises to be a good one indeed. the patches are up from bc to tacoma and things are looking good as far as the weather is concerned. many old standby patches that were starting to suffer in my area have been given new life with the addition of new wood chips to colonize. it might mean no fruits this year, but the survival of the patch is whats important. astoria is calling my name, and I will be leaving friday morning to visit my fav secret locations. cardboard, I know you are coming with me. or else. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

if the sign says dont pick the mushrooms, you should probably pick them
