Common mushrooms in PNW
    #2790794 - 06/13/04 10:07 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

Are there any mushies that flourish around this time of year in the puget sound area? I know of most mushrooms that grow out here but I have yet to have a sucessful hunt and dont want to wait around too late this year.

Your season is just about over... Er, well, yes...

You'll need to be looking for Psilocybe cyanescens during the fall and winter.

John, Mycogirl and were around town and went to check out your baeo spot for you. (the place we saw the dogs) Still nothing there. And don't worry, we haven't been raiding your spots. Matter of fact, all that we've found were a lot of Pan Foe's. We also found some edibles at Discovery Park...Shaggy Parasol (Lepiota rachodes) and Oyster Mushrooms (Pleurotus Ostreatus).

Indeed, all sorts of mushrooms have been loving this rain. Even that mystery Psilocybe gave another flush. I'll get more photos tomorrow, I only picked this one to get the color of the cap before the winds dried them out but it still lost its caramel color before I got home.
Oh well, it's still gorgeous.

Peace - @cro

Indeed, I'll post more pics later today but my upload limit has been met.
The original thread is here:
Spring Psilocybe
Were not quite sure what it is yet possibly a new species or old species showing different phenotypes. They have been found by a couple others MJ has found them a few times and Joshua found them last Spring.

Peace - @cro
