As I was hiking around today (and finding nothing) I came to the conclusion that finding active mushrooms took 3 distinct things:

1: Knowledge (Of habitat, season, characteristics of different mushrooms, etc)
2: Persistence
3: Luck

Which one(s) of those 3 are you missing MycoPunx?

Probably number 1 and number 3, I just wish there was more barkchips that fit the description of what cyans grow on around my area...
I mean I know what a cyanescen looks like and could most definately spot it from a mile away if I saw it. It's just Location.

I keep seeing large patches of little shrooms, but I can't seem to tell one bell shaped shroom from another. :\

Well, continue to read this forum. Read all of it. Go to your library, read some Mycology books. Learn about mushrooms in general, than narrow your knowledge down to whatever specie you wish to hunt, (though the more knowledge you have about every specie, the better) I even started reading books about certain trees which different types of mushrooms grow around. It just takes time, so be patient. Keep hunting. Keep reading.

Well, continue to read this forum. Read all of it. Go to your library, read some Mycology books.
