What If?..
    #1129474 - 12/10/02 05:35 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

If impermanance exsists, does need exist?
birth and death are facts of life, they are everywhere, right down to the cigarettes you smoke, impermanance is not a fancy esoteric fairy tale. so where does this leave you? an endless quest to drag happiness out of fleeting moments in life, dissolving into memories, or does one finally begin to question the origin/purpose of this wheel. This is what enlightenment speaks of, liberation from this wheel of negativity.

I havnt been around for a while. i have been on a crazy journey across Canada trying to uncover this mystery laid out before my eyes, life?

sleeping in a car with no food or water, little or no attachment nearing death i have found to be very enlightening, facing these attachments has changed my life, and especially the way i view death.

Good luck to all on your quests for truth and i will check in whenever i can.

" liken this life illusory, for your sand castle will one day be adrift amongst the wind "

Life is incredably messy....and for those with SOUL the messyer the better I say....

Support bacteria - they're the only culture some people have.

I enjoyed your post on your experience in self-awareness and personal enlightenment through material sacrifice.

I, too, have spent much time living in my 1980 Grand LeMans travelling across several provinces. Sometimes even living by choice in alleyways. Now here's my question to everyone;

How many of YOU have spent time alone with only the basics, seeing all there is to see in this reality, giving as much as you can to feed and further expand your mind and/or constitution? I believe a very minor part of you have willingly given up any security or material possessions in this or any manner.

In closing, I would suggest that anyone who feels they are missing something out in life do something for themselves. Maybe not something as extreme as dropping everything and going, but definitely go out of your way to give away something that you feel especially attached to.

Believe me, that in itself is extremely gratifying.

Thank you for the story, Vibrant, it fills me with great happiness to know that I'm not alone.

Much love to everyone,

P.S. Merry Early Xmas!
