ViBrAnT's Obituary

I typed this out from the newspaper, perhaps it should be a sticky.
Michael Daryl Derksen.
With great saddness that we announce our son's passing on Friday, July 11th, 2003. Michael's memory will be forever cherished by his parents, his sister Reanne, grandparents, Mike and Marry Shutiak and Gladis Derksen, and by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. His grandfather Arnold Derksen predeceased him. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially playing mini sticks and computer games with his sister. Michael beleived in living the simple life and he cherished nature and all its beauty. May God grant him eternal peace. A memorial service in celebration of Michaels life will be held on Wednesday, July 16th, 2003 at 1:30 at Park Funural Chapel, 311 3rd Ave. North, Saskatoon, officiated by Rev. Fr. Frank Szadiak, C. Ss.R. A private family interment of Michael's cremated remains will take place in Woodlawn Catholic semetary, Saskatoon, at a later date. Arrangements in trusted to James Werezak of Park Funural Chapel. 244 2103.

Rest in peace oh ViBrAnT one ! Memories are like a book hidden in the dust, remembering is like smiles that we want to review slowly. You will be with us in our mind and thoughts till the end of time. Have joy wherever you are and shine !!!!!!

I'm reminded of the Pearl Jam lyric "Some die just to live".
Very sad, I hope his friends and family are ok.
-------------------- The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

Hey, if you think scarcity is a good reason for making this sticky.... then by all means, keep it up...
Be honest with yourselves... this is drama. Sure, it's real, but it's still drama.

I took the time to type this out and show respect for the loss. I am good at accepting death, and it is a part of life. I don't think it is right, to hide it away like it doesn't exist. And this isn't mensioning anything about him commiting suicide. This is just is obituary, which I was asked to post by two kind mods. So take your disrespectful mean comments elseware. If you get sad reading this, than don't read it.

If you think this is drama, than your bringing it on yourself. So far, people have made great simple comments like R.I.P. There has been no debating or arguments like as with Rippers death.

This is one outcome of too much information without the support to integrate it. This should be a wake up call to all you would be psychonauts, one outcome of the quest is instability and depression.Vibrants posts exquisitly showcase the effects of too much truth on an unprepared mind. Sclorch,Drama is part of the human condition if it truly bothers you why do you seem to pipe in with some "tough shit" response with each new "drama"? Some people do hide their emotional response behind a coplete denial of the response. Is it really just tough shit that this person lacked the support to understand and learn from and rise above the place he was in? I can say that if it was you who who checked out that even some who dislike you would mourn the passing of the interesting mind of Sclorch. Is that wrong or weak or just too dramatic? Vibrant learned that enlightenment without faith leads to despair. This is a lesson all you young experimenters should heed. Peace and rest in peace. WR

I don't agree completely with that, the experience of enlightenment can also lead to your becoming a "sotapanna", the buddhist term for one who enters the stream towards Nirvana. There are experiences that by themselves produce faith in the dharma.
And there are also people who get psychosis instead of ego-death. ViBrAnT may have been one of them, but then again he may not. Let's not jump to conclusions. And for everyone who thinks ViBrAnT cheated his way out of the game, let me quote some wise words:
He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

I didn't know him, but after reading the quotes some of you have posted, I see that it's unfortunate that we've lost someone who was apparently a good person, as well as an intelligent one.
Suicide is never the answer, and unfortunately he didn't have the strength to cope with his problems, which I am sure were very difficult. I wish his soul well on its continuing journey.

What, he has to earn your respects? Obviously, you haven't been here for the whole discussion, and you never knew who he was, so why do you want us to describe what happened and who he was, so you can decide whether or not he needs your sympathy? Just as people reading the newspaper don't call up someone that died's wife they saw in the obituaries, you don't need to pay respects. Got it? Peace.

You misunderstand. I just wanted to know a bit about what happened, as respects paid otherwise are meanigless. No worries, i dont give a shit one way or the other...
