Raw Food Diet

One of the premises from the book 'Left in the Dark' is that man should readopt a raw food diet.

Guess we should eat poisonous raw cashews rather than cook them and eat undigestable dried rice because adding hot water will change our brain chemistry for the worse and cause us to lose our psychic powers.

Been on a raw food diet for 4 months now. I tried to come back to cooked, but I started to get negative reactions to it;  low energy(compared to now), less stamina, intestines felt like they were clogged up, I farted smelly farts, acne increased and loss muscle mass and strength(even though I increased meat intake, 5 fold)

I eat raw cashews and love the flavor better than cooked. I cannot believe they are poisonous right now, they taste to good that way and make me feel amazing anyways, havent had an adverse reaction to them and I eat them by the cup full daily.

I seriously doubt that you are eating raw cashews. Care to double-check that?

The so-called raw cashews sold in natural food stores are not raw, but instead are steamed. It is the case that the double shell surrounding the raw cashew, which is technically a seed and not a nut, contains urushiol, a resin that can create significant skin rashes, and can be toxic when ingested.

Are hand-shelled cashews better for you? No evidence.

Are they twice the price of steamed cashews? Just about.

Then why buy hand-shelled cashews? So you don't look foolish when telling everyone you are a raw fooder!

That isn't an extravagantly high price to pay. I will try a pound one of these days. Now I'm curious how raw cashews taste and soon I will know.

I usually just put the tea in the corner of my mouth and extract the flavor with saliva.

I used to drink raw beer. You put a handful of barley, hops and water in your mouth and let ferment for 7 days before swallowing.

Very hard to get a buzz, not to mention choking to death in your sleep.

Wow, does anyone brew with uncooked grain?
You might be able to do it with the right lactic acid starter.
I'll be damned if the Belgians haven't a least tried it.
There may be a market for raw beer.
