If it was all over your hand, and not just fingers, then she was probably menstruating.  I'd guess an injury to produce as much blood as you make it sound would cause her to feel it and alert you.  Also, the bloody discharge at the time of menstruation would feel very lubricated, which may explain why "she was really wet."
