Re: New Age/Spiritual Terminology [Re: falcon]

1. The OP's post was a rant and not a real topic for discussion nor did he provide even the slightest backing for his non-topic. Naturally, no one else jumped on him for that.

2. Many of the topics I mentioned DID have awareness as part of their folklore.

Plants are aware of human thoughts. Water is aware of human thoughts, etc.

3. The OP's topic was so vague and generalized as to elicit nearly any response.

And why would they? There was nothing substantial to address.

The original post was about theories that shared words with New Age theories, not New Age theories that used those words.

I did not find it to be that vague. My first reply, has a good summation of the post.

True, there was no substance in the OP. We don't even know if this mysterious group of 'some people' exists. Which, of course, makes it a meaningless rant and little else.

It did have substance, it pointed out that some people dismiss ideas because of the terms used by those that hold those ideas, there was nothing substantial to address, as there was little to refute about the statements made in the original post.

I would say that it was a meaningful rant, in that, it elicited an
erroneous response from you.

Made up or not it had meaning, substance, the meaning of his words were not addressed by you in your initial post.

I am curious OrgoneConclusion, have you ever tried magic mushrooms or any other psychedelic drugs?

You sound like a closed brain that hasn't been opened by psychedelics.

you dont need drugs to be open minded, some people are sad inside so no matter what they do, they'll never change.

Unlike some of the brilliantly open minded psychedelic users on here. "The truth is within us all and it is the same truth for everyone as it is for me."

Nice. A personalism and an unsubstantiated belief all rolled into one.

Most ridiculous post of the month. :trophy:

No offensive intended. I was just curious. And who is to say that a closed mind isn't as good as an open mind?

I certainly have seen people that I think are a little too open minded.

It is not a matter of offense - it adds nothing to the discussion and is a forum no-no.

Where does your belief that taking a drug will make someone more like you originate? That is the real question.

Well, I am curious because I am wondering if it is possible to have a thought pattern like yours after using psychedelics.

I have a friend with more than 150 in IQ and he is also a little close-minded, but he has never tried psychedelics.

My theory is that he will become much more open-minded after he has tried psychedelics.

I don't believe that psychedelics alter thought patterns in a predictable manner, if they alter them at all.

Once again you have failed to address my question. Perhaps if you took enough drugs your mind pattern would be like mind. That makes real sense, eh?

All of this open-minded, close-minded talk is nothing but projection. Those that are most like me are open-minded and those who are least like me are close-minded.

Think of this stance for a moment before replying and see how silly it is.

Perhaps, but I really don't care about how you are evaluating my thought processes, and I really just wanted to know if you have tried psychedelics or not.

If everyone took shrooms they would be more Zanthius-like. That certainly qualifies as a _ _ _ _ _ belief. I can see why you have no answer as you have no foundation.

Are you really a scientist?
