Which one suits you- Traditional or Active Meditation?
    #9874547 -

In the current scenario, doing meditation is becoming a common practice in order to attain both mental as well as physical relaxation. There are quite a few techniques through which one can learn and perform meditation. The oldest technique is the one in which the person performing it is suppose to take deep breaths and concentrate on incoming cold oxygen and the outgoing warm carbondioxide. After a while the learner forgets about all his worried and tensions and begin to experience relaxed mind. This is the state from your path to spirituality begins.

However, there are people who find it difficult to concentrate on their breath while sitting in a stationary position with their eyes closed. For such people modern technique of meditation designed by Osho called active meditation works perfectly as they are comparatively simpler to perform and allows the person to remain active throughout. It involves very interesting activities such as singing, dancing, clapping, laughing and even crying. One can learn active meditation techniques by joining group meditation course offered by Osho for his disciples. It is also possible to learn these meditation techniques at home though an online course made available by Oshodhara. So don’t waste your precious time and choose the technique which suits you more.

great marketing pitch!

i remember ringing doorbells as a child and running away.
don't ask me how I got into that stupid habit - did I see it on TV in 1961?

one day
someone was right at the door and when I rang the bell they opened the door immediately.

I was 10 years old, and very embarrassed to be caught doing something so stupid, so I pretended to be selling something;
I stuck my hand in a pocket and pulled out a small part of a black crayon, my most favorite crayon, and proceeded to sell this valuable thing.

the people invited me in for cookies and milk but did not buy the crayon.

I wish I knew these people today.
I would love such customers.

Active.:satansmoking:

Actually while I think osho was kind of a loser this IMO was his great gift to the western world. His pro sexuality stance was right on and most likely was helpful to many westerners. His active meditation helps one to reconnect with a body that may be quite frozen by western religious sexual repression.

Osho got this from Gurdjieff's teachings
so this isn't Osho's exclusively
if these ideas are of interest to you
you can google for "the fourth way"or"the work"
BUT be prepared to find tons more information on the person Gurdjieff than on his teachings

here is a good site

I've read Gurdjieff.  He was fascinating and mostly right on IMO. Doesn't surprise me that Osho got it from him.

no doubt about it Gurdjieff was a great man
(I'm glad to see we agree on this )
but
he didn't finish his 3rd book so
his students did a much better job of bringing his teachings to the public
