I have a bunch. Cream's "White Room", Beastie Boys' "Sure Shot." (Don't ask, the flute and bass in it do a number on my mind when I'm trippin' though.) My other favorite is Led Zeppelin's "The Rover." That's actually probably my favorite out of all of them.[This message has been edited by fbetsy (edited July 10, 2000).]

You have to try tripping to Primus. The music takes you to another world, a weird but fun world! Two of my favourite albums are Pork Soda and Tales From The Punchbowl. Other great bands are Cypress Hill, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Astral Projection and Tool.

when it comes to songs that are supreme while trippin, there are but a few. without a doubt, Pink Floyd, the greatest band to grace this planet, provides the best music to listen to while on your trip. any of their many albums will do, but if you're looking for the best tripping albums, get piper at the gates of dawn or ummagumma(studio album is the best for trippin). when it comes to individual songs however, the song that first comes to mind is echoes, on the album Meddle. buy it, listen to it, you'll understand....also, especially if you have surround sound, listen to interstellar overdrive on piper at the gates of dawn.....if you're looking for something extremely out there, but also VERY VERY interesting if you're trippin, listen to several small species of furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict(yes thats all the title of one song) on the ummagumma studio album.....once again, buy it, listen to it, you'll understand......and may we all recognize David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, Rick Wright, and last but not least, Mr. Syd Barrett as the gods of rock and groundbreaking musicians they truly are.

Interstellar Overdrive - great post! Guess who my screen name refers to - Mr. Barrett, of course!Piper is an amazing album, but some of the unreleased and early singles Floyd is also terrific - Scream Thy Last Scream, Candy and a Currant Bun and, particularly, Apples and Oranges are great tripping songs. And while Syd's solo stuff is not for the masses, there are gems galore - several tracks from The Madcaps Laughs, the entire album Barrett, as well as some of the outtakes from Opel. Also good for tripping - the underappreciated Alexander "Skip" Spence.

My personal favs are Yes's "The Gates Of Delerium" off of the album _Relayer_ (the entire album is incredible but the song I mentioned is quite intense). Another is Rush's "Cygnus X-1 Book II" off of _Hemispheres_ .. . and of course, Floyd's "Echoes" off of _Meddle_ . .. Check 'em all out! Also, I can't stress this enough...the only way to listen to this music (and in my opinion all music) is with a good pair of headphones. You completely miss out on all of the little nuances when not using headphones. It would be like looking at art work with blurred vision. Using headphones really brings the music into focus...ya dig?
