Ok, I know this must of been posted some where before, but thats alot of posts to look for to find it. I am trying to make a simply trip CD, any suggestions on what I should put on it? I already got a hole stash of Flloyd and some mellow Astral Projection, but anything else?

Jimi Hendrix's 1983 (A Merman I Should Turn To Be) off the most mindblowingly orgasmic psychedelic record ever, Electric Ladyland is so beautiful, mellow and magical and strange and yet unbearably intense, apocalyptic and massively destructive. Listen to it on alot of drugs, you will shit yourself. Jimi is the king.
Peace, love & pointy things,

Incunabula by Autechre is a great album to listen to while tripping, or even when you're not.
Project Pitchfork is good too, although they are a little darker.
I love Warlock by Skinny Puppy when I'm really high.
Aphex Twin is really good but it can become really intense at times. Try Selected ambient works volumn 1 and 2, as it is very dream like, hence the name.
that's just a few
hope this helps some

while i agree that Jimi's song 1983 is amazing, i have to say that Jimi's 2nd album Axis: Bold As Love is my personal favorite as it contains the epitome of trip music....If 6 Was 9. of course, it WAS the first song i ever listened to on a psychedelic sacrament............and yes, Jimi is the king.
i don't know, man, ya know?

I had a trip cd made up containing a bunch of different music
the best song I think to trip ro though is Jimi Hendrix "May this be love" I find that anytime i get any feelings of unsettledness or tension, even full blow bad trip, this song seems to help.
MY TRIP CD
1. May THis BE love- Jimi Hendrix
2. The Hall of Mirros Palace- Terry Riley
3. Koyaanisqatsi- Philip Glass
4. Little Fluffy clouds- The Orb
5. Breathe- Pink Floyd
6. Refugee Prayer- Yungchen Lhamo
7. Buddhist's monks choir
8. Didgeridoos
9. Some song from pure moods #1
10. Mountain stream- Nature sounds
11. Time- PInk Floyd
12. What a Wonderful world- Louis Armstrong
13. Summer rain- nature sounds
Most of this stuff I would never listen to in non-psychedelic mode, but tripped out, it rules. And Yeah, Hendrix is GOD. My favorite thing to do is to sit and play hendrix songs like "Little WIng", "Wind Cries Mary", "Voodoo Chile (slight Return)" etc on my guitar when Im tripping
-------------------- "The tent is breathing again"- ME camping at sandbanks

Ummagumma is awsome. Though scary sometimes (especially the studio disk), it gets really intense and much of it isn't even music, but just birds and screams.

in my opinion, some good shrooming tunes would be
Tool-Latarlus(whole album), Push It(Salival version),46 and 2
Phish-You Enjoy Myself, Esther, Guyute, The Divided Sky
Steve Miller Band-Wild Mountain Honey
Tea Party-Innana(maybe??) or anything off of Alhambra. would probably be better for being really high
The Doors-The End(this would probably be better while really high

TOOL - Third Eye, and in fact all of the AEnima, Salival, and Lateralus albums. Opiate and Undertow aren't nearly as trippy, although still quality of course.
Useful idiot...(-)ions...intermission....cessaro summability...
anybody going to any of the shows? I got tickets to see em in PA...

im trying to make a trip CD aswell! im looking for sorta mellow, real chilled out trippy tunes.
some good suggestions for u would have 2 be
Tool-Diposition or Reflection. off of Latarlus.
Phish-You Enjoy Myself. u will have 2 have this one on. its a really sweet trippy/happy song thats about 7 minutes long then at the end it goes into a really cool chilled out funky part of the song. its awesome.
The Doors-The End really mellow, a nice middle-eastern sound 2 it, a killer song for toking.
Radiohead-Motion Picture Soundtrack. or just ne thing off of their album "Kid A"
im trying to come up with some songs for a cd that im making too. im looking for any real chilled out but perhaps more middle-eastern sounding(a good example would be The End by The Doors. or just if u know of some chillin/trippin tunes.these r some songs that r on the lines of what im looking for:
The Doors-The End
Ther Tea Party-Innana
Phish-Frankie Says
Steve Miller Band-Wild Mountain Honey
Ben Folds Five-Air
Tool-Push It(Salival version)
Pink Floyd-Breathe
Dead Can Dance-Rakim
Tomko Lamb-Forgiven
if anyone can help me out here i would appreciate it alot. thanx.

I noticed you quoted eminem, if you listen to other rappers I know a few you'd like. One of my favorites is Planet Zero by an underground rapper known as First Degree. Just about all of the songs are real trippy. Nuthin personal, but I think eminem is a little too fake and not that talented.

Not much I can add to the entire database here, but I'll try anyways:
"Killing Game," Autechre remixing Skinny Puppy
"Thing," The Delta
"Dream," Forest for the Trees
anything by Infected Mushroom
"Don't Laugh," Josh Wink
"Polyphony of Dolls," Akira Soundtrack
"Children," Tilt remixing Robert Miles
'Kaguya Hime," Juno Reactor
"ISDN [album]," FSOL
"LSD," Hallucinogen
"Spacetime Continuum," Terence McKenna

Yes, it IS very dreamlike, but only about half of the songs, the other half's gonna make you shit your pants... (scary+intense)
Aphex Twin is only for advanced trippers, IMHO, but nonetheless essential...
Orbital - Insides
Orb - U.F.Off (Best of)
Hallucinogen - Twisted
Air - Moon Safari
F.S.O.L. - Lifeforms
Beatles - Yellow Subamrine O.S.T.
Fight Club - O.S.T.
Kruder&Dorfmeister - The K&D Sessions
Nightmares On Wax - Smokers Delight
Anne Clark - Virtuality (Global Youth Rmx)
Moby - Play
Noma - Navigator
Bitmonx vs Fabio - Erdbeer Kiwi
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
these will make you trip.
Have fun!

the first night i tripped acid i watched the aphex twin video for come to daddy , and then accidentally walked into a friends dorm room while he was watching the exorcist on dvd... the aphex twin video was insane.. loved it.. i had a little trouble stomaching the exorcist though.. i prefered to watch the soda cans melt and become part of the tapestry spread over the coffee table and listen to it..

Here are my top picks sorted by intoxicant (all are fairly techno oriented except for Dead Can Dance)
Shrooms:
Delerium (fucking awesome band download some of the tracks to their new album Poem, or Karma) - Fav track: Myth
Dead Can Dance (very well performed worldly music, each band member can speak about 20 different languages) Fav track: Yulunga (Spirit Dance)
LSD:
Velvet Acid Christ (May be a little heavy, but the synthetic soundscapes are awesome) Fav track: Mindphlux (Trip Zone Mix)
Download (The best post Skinny Puppy project in my opinion. This shit is really my favorite on any drug, or sober. The newest album "Effector" is the shit. If you like this band, also check out cevin key's latest solo work "The Ghost of each Room") Fav track: Ego Dissolve
Nine Inch Nails (Newer shit is pretty trippy, older shit is good but depressing) Fav track: March of the Pigs (or a good remix of).
Those are just some of my favs.
Worth checking out, I promise.

ccr - looking out my back door
pink floyd - high hopes
aphex twin - boy/girl song
ok, so that was only 4. so what. i only wanted to put the first two up there anyway.... (i judge on imagination)

Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix are real nice
but,
you should all try and find something
of "King Crimson", especially the ones from the '70
like, "In the court of the crimson king" or,
"In the wake of poseidon"

I don't know if it IS trippy, but ' SAND' by Phish is a pretty great song.
SAND
If you cant hear the symptoms but not effect the pause. Its quite a bit like trying to heal a gunshot wound with gauze, If you instead attempt rest the fizzle from the hand then I would not be able to equate my life with sand flowing through the hourglass....

I go towards the 70s genre when tripping.
Peter Frampton- Do you feel like I do.. This song gets the outside inner voice going for me everytime.
Pink Floyd- Shine on you Crazy diamond !!
Then the rest of the night is Jimi/Floyd/and selected Led Zepplin

I've noticed the songs people have posted on this thread has shown alot of Pink Floyd of course. Come on guys, you are missing a Pink Floyd song that I think no one has mentioned, "Echoes"!!!! That song is really interesting. Very long too. 22 minutes and something if I'am correct.

let me first say that i am very disapointed to see incubus mentioned only one time and very incorectly, morning view was released in 02, thier new album is titled "A crow left of the murder" and both are not anyhting you want to listen to whilst tripping, i would suggest(once again) pink floyd, any pink floyd, and older incubus, fungus amoungus is a good one(imagine that) also try "enjoy incubus" and s.c.i.e.n.ce., if you like to think you HAVE to listen to "Make Yourself" (includes drive, stellar, make yourself, almost every popular incubus song) any incubus is um, stellar, to listen to whilst tripping though i wouldnt personally recomend their new album for that purpose.

Basically anything by Shpongle is guaranteed to go well with drugs, but Devine Moments of Truth and Star Shpongled Banner are a few of my favs. As well, if you are into the ambient type, Brian Eno's Ambient 4: On Land is really good background music while trippy (albeit a bit on the strange and creepy side)

Turn on some Kind Crimson, my friend. Listen to 'Epitaph' and '21st Century Schizoid Man'. "Confusion! Confusion will be my epitaph." Also one of the most trippiest songs I've heard was by Funkadelic called Maggot Brain. Try that song, it'll blow your mind. That and go back to some Pink Floyd. Listen to 'Arnold Layne', especially the keyboard in that song...:D

I kind of like aggressive music when I'm tripping just because it seems to heighten my experience a bit.
Some of the stuff I listen to when I'm tripping
Black Flag - Slip It In (This song is my most favorite song to trip on just because it's so crazy and sexual and the bass line is awesome)
Refused - New Noise (Good for wanting to tear things up and I love the movement in the song and it's speed and how it's intense. Wonderful band too)
Pink Floyd - One of my turns (I love this track just because it's so dangerous)
Tech Nine - (I like this artist a lot, he's one of my favorite rappers but I admit his stuff isn't really good to trip on. However this one song is "it", especially if you have any sort of sub-woofers on your system. I got a fifteen in my car and on shrooms or weed all you can do is just let this song grab you)
Deftones - Knife Party, Be Quiet and Drive
Smashing Pumpkins -
Ministry - Bad Blood (fucking crazy dude, brings me into intense visuals and by the end of the song I have so much adrenaline burning in my system)
Murder City Devils - Press Gang (Great song even when you're not tripping. The organ and chrous in the backgrounds though are so vibrant and colorful when you're tripping though. I didn't even notice the chorus until I listened to this song really high on weed).
The Who - I've had enough (Pretty decent song to listen to near the end of your trip. It's nice kind of rock oprea-ish track.)
The Clockwork Orange Sound Track - (Jesus Christ if you want to flip out on something while you're in a trip, this is the CD for you. My favorite track it the first one. The track where in the movie you're introduced to the characters in the milk bar)
The Pixies - Where is my mind ( )
Jimi Hendrix is amazing when you're fucked up. Castles made of sand is my personal favorite
I better stop or else I'll be here all night.

Sneaker Pimps - Underground
Portishead's good actually, and you can't really go wrong with Radiohead, especially if you're on K. Trance seems to go well with shrooms though. I believe it depends on what kind of mood you want to be in. Depends on the setting, surroundings etc.

Amazing. I wrote this on another threads:

Probably one of the best options would by Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland, one of the psychedelic rock masterpieces.
(specially 1983, a 15 minutes suite of pure trippyness, whithout a doubt the best 3D-4D sound to date in pure stereo)
Of course, The dark side of the moon, probably THE album to hear for some trippy musical phylosophy.
Quote:
Deepman said:
-1983 - Moon turn the tides
Without any doubt, the best 3d-4d sound ever recorded on plain stereo. Just thinking about hearing that song in 1971 give me the chills. Some of the trippiest sounds, such as walrus and crazy waves hide a profound message, an utopia of getting away from the sounds of a world which is too busy fighting to hear a message of love and understanding. And so we shall swim into the sea for ever, and get away from those who are "out of style"
Interesting to note how some people think alike (But I'm spanish, so I know less english to explain myself )

incubaby_421 said: let me first say that i am very disapointed to see incubus mentioned only one time and very incorectly, morning view was released in 02, thier new album is titled "A crow left of the murder" and both are not anyhting you want to listen to whilst tripping, .
I listened to A Crow Left Of The Murder on a bad trip and listening to that CD shifted it to an enjoyable one. Remember opinions are like Genitalia everyone has them..!
indeed my freind indeed, i was speaking generally, i fyou know the words beforehand and are into them as much as i am then yes, i have and will continue to listen to every incubus album whilst enjoying chemicals of all sorts
but the majority of poeple dont really car for a.c.l.o.t.m. then, i love it

Lateralious from Tool is an awesome song while peaking. I totaly reccomend Tool for a nice trip.

i will start by expressing my disbelief in any lack of mention of Sigur-Ros. they are the greatest band with nothing but beautiful music... the very first time i ever heard their untitled album i was with a few friends & a head full of mushrooms. this was the best trip ive ever had - we listened to that album 4 times in a row without complaining, only shouting periodically "this is the perfect music right now." the gap in the middle was a comforting return to our own thoughts and after came the "darker" side - but every time i hear any of that album i get overwhelmed, i havent listened to it many times afterward; i suppose its for special occasions only now. their first major release "agaetis byrjun" is equally as beautiful but, () is a single piece of exquisite fodder for your head.

the devil is in the details-boards of canada, this song is beautiful and strange. Really any boards of canada is good trip music for me but this song stands out
All of City Slab Horror by Severed Heads, this is a great australian group from the 80's that I don't think a lot of people have heard but they should. They sound like a cross between Kraftwerk, New Order with a little touch of Throbbing Gristle thrown in. I have read Orbital was really influenced by this band. Seriously great music for tripping or anytime.
I second Sigur Ros, orbital and Aphex Twin selected ambient works vol II
Joga-bjork
