I find it pretty ironic that the actual presidential nominee running for the socialist party said Obama is nowhere near a real socialist.

Of course, what the hell would he know?

McCarthyism, 2008!

that makes no sense since McCain is for cutting taxes on
everyone and Obama is only cutting taxes for those that
already pay the least

But McCain's tax cuts mostly benefit the people who don't need a cut. The people who are most hurt by the current state of the economy are those who can barely afford fuel and groceries on top of their mortgage repayments, and it's those people who need a tax cut more than anything.

you say this like obama is cutting out taxes for everyone under
a certain income level, if he allows me 1% tax cut on a $20k/yr
job, just how much extra am I getting to keep, $200, WOOOOO.
I IS TEH RICH NOW! where will an extra grand get me over the
course of a year, how exactly will obamas tax increase on the
wealthy work out when more money is moved overseas and there's
simply less to tax

Where'd you get the 1% figure? This chart indicates it's more like 5%. You'd be pretty happy if your boss gave you a 5% raise, especially if you were struggling to make ends meet.

the tax break equates to $25/week on the 5.5% over the course
of a year, that's a whole $1000, I know how little it helps

how much money will be moved out of the country by those
earning better than $250k, I know I wouldnt be dealing with an
11% increase very well if I earned that kind of money

But none of us here know how much money would be "moved out of the country" due to tax hikes. What we do know is that 60% of the population would be better off under Obama's tax plan. Some of them by as much as 5.5% of their income, which is a big deal for them. You seem to be assuming that the money leaving the country would offset that benefit. I don't believe that is the case.

Also, under McCain's plan, the country would be losing 2% of its income. How's that compare to the money 'leaving the country' under Obama?

Obama's plan benefits more people than McCain's, without affecting the country's revenue to such a degree.

60% of taxpayers would receive an average of a $800 decrease in taxes. That's the federal government not taking in over a hundred billion dollars from the majority of people in the country. I don't see how this couldn't do anything but help most of the country.

extra $1200 with his stupid rebate checks

WOOOOOO HOOOOOO $20/week! that's not even enough to buy lunch
each day, it certainly wont be getting people to the next
paycheck and given the price of gas it wont get anyone to
work for the whole week

lets assume that 25% of the cash leaves the country for
foreign investments, and that we have 7.8 trillion in those
deep pockets of the wealthy, well that means that 1.9
trillion would be untaxable, that equates to $760bn in lost
revenue under that 39% he want in place

now, with $2.66trillion as our normal estimated budget, just
how much have we lost, seems like a little more than 2% since
that equates to only $53billion

False.  McCain will cut everyone's taxes.  That is more people than Barry's.  According to the cute little diagram.  Further, of that 60% 2/3rds pay no income taxes at all.

Actually it's 2/3s of the big corporations that pay no taxes.

Quote:
Two-thirds of U.S. corporations paid no federal income taxes between 1998 and 2005, according to a new report from Congress.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported that two-thirds of both American and foreign companies doing business here end  up avoiding all income tax obligations to the federal government, despite corporate sales totaling $2.5 trillion.

Marx was a radical socialist. FDR was a fascist. Obama is a gradualist european socialist who supports a shit load of corporatist policies. McCain is a populist who supports a lot of socialist and corporatist policies.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened." -Norman Thomas, socialist party of America presidential candidate

Corporations don't pay any income tax.  They pay corporate taxes.  Given that the people who own the companies pay tax on the profits (capital gains)I can't understand why they pay any taxes at all.  Oh wait, they don't pay that tax either.  The people who buy their shit pay that tax.  Aren't you glad you buy things?

no, I'd be pretty pissed off considering the smallest raise I

just hourly pay, I didnt earn commission

Kind of makes you sick, doesn't it? As in, personally insulted.
And then angry.

One thing that this election has revealed to me is that every conservative member of this board literally hates people who have less money than they do, thinks that they are homeless and intentionally jobless, and enjoys watching them suffer. It's really fucking awful. And then they expect us to listen to them and vote for their shit head candidate? It's like the KKK telling black people who they should vote for.
