Though I must say, it is paradoxically much harder to find a real girlfriend than it is to find a fuckbuddy. I've had a lot of fuckbuddies in my day, but only one real girlfriend, and that relationship was completely fucked up and retarded. I saw her like once a month.
I'm still working on the whole girlfriend thing. Damnedest part is I don't want a fuckbuddy, I want to find my other half, it's just that the search for a quality woman has a lot of dead-ends with you getting sucked off or fooling around but not really feeling anything. Playing the field is important - be sure to take out lots of girls who are attractive to you. Don't go on a single date with a cutie and then consider yourself "taken" by this broad you barely know and have no real connection with other than a few hours of time together. You can go on a date with a girl one day and another one the next, no one will even look at you funny for that. It takes some time for a real bond to form, and in the meantime there's nothing wrong with putting yourself out there and exploring. It's more fun, it's better for your self-esteem, and ultimately it's just a more effective approach.
Took me a long time to figure that one out.
