I think psilocybin causes muscular spasms in the stomach. that or some other contam/toxin does.

Tough, fibrous matter might help along a stomach ache, but I'd think with all the shit we modern people pump through them that they could handle it.

I'd definitely blame it on chemical consituents, not 'structural'.
